Before we begin, I should describe Matthew. Matt is 6'2 and fair skinned, somewhat on the skinny side. Thick and slightly long black hair with a trimmed beard covers his face. Never one to pass up free credits but will always be there to help those who can’t help themselves. Sometimes works for some Blue Moon. Will tell jokes while attempting to shag the nearest pretty girl. Some say he can fly transports better than your mother can and some say he can fly while drunk.
Matthew was born on Planet Denver in the Colorado system of Liberty space on April 19th in the year 794 AS. Matthew led a normal childhood. Matt was a good kid aside from the normal teenage rebellion and whatnot. His mother made sure to teach him the language of all the houses so that he could have a better chance in life. His father served in the Liberty navy from before the day he was born and up to shortly after the Nomad War so he could spend time with his son. Matt himself was largely unaffected by the war and only knows about it from the many recorded newscasts and what his father told him.
When Matt was 18, he applied for a pilot’s license on Denver so he could become a Navy pilot like his father. He passed civilian flight exams easy enough like most people. He applied for the Liberty Navy shortly afterwards. After waiting a few long weeks he heard back from the Navy. He was rejected...he didn’t know why he was rejected but he was rejected. After that he decided to switch to a more simple life, trading.
Matt slowly worked his way up the ladder of freelance trading. Using everything from the Gull to a Heron dubbed “The Midland”. Freelance trading payed well but he wanted a job, he wanted security. He wanted out of the unemployment line. There were many corporations that he could attempt to apply for. To this day, he still doesn’t know why he chose Interspace Commerce but he knows that it was the best decision he had ever made. Gifted a Stork he named Ohioville that he still pilots to this day.
One and a half years later Matthew has risen up through the ranks of Interspace and is now the Recruitment Officer in charge of everything from interviews with new applicants to human resources. The current state of Sirius troubles him deeply but he has learned to just keep calm, carry on, and be a blue-collar-man.
With his wealth, he started a side project, PTMC. The Post Terran Mining Corporation is Matthews anchor to the little guy. So that he could never forget the joys of having a small ship that barely made any money but the money it made was worth more than anything any proper company could offer. To this day PTMC remains a company of less than six pilots. Only his most trusted friends are granted access to his ships.
