Battleship Nagasaki, Tau-29 System
Recruitment Office of The Kusari Exiles (Ronin)
All the potential recruits had been through a bit of a trip getting here. Some had still been making their way back from Bretonia, as the fleet had been mostly scattered into small groups. Some were coming from Kusari, motivated by their love of Kusari and their wish to fight for it. These men coming from Kusari had generally quietly made their way to some Hogosha or Farmers Alliance base, and after meeting an resistance officer, a man who covertly recruits for the Exiles within Kusari, were whisked off to the Nagasaki for assignment, and if necessary, training.
A small officer at the desk gives all those who walk in a form. It reads:
Place of Origin: Born 794 A.S. Planet Harris, Tau-31.
Status During the Bretonia War: Kusari Armed Forces, a military engineer aboard the Stokes Mining Station during it's occupation.
Kusari Affiliations: Father and Mother Samura researchers, Father has Hogosha ties.
Biographical Information: Holly was born on Planet Harris to Bretonian-Kusari Parents, both researchers for Samura and Kusari Citizens. Employed by Planetform as Leased Consultants to study the introduction of Gaian wildlife to the newly terraformed Harris. Her father, Tetsuya has strong ties in Hogosha, of which his family was a prominent factor. Through family wealth, Holly was sent to New Tokyo to attend University and study engineering, her dream to work with Renzu designing ships. However, when war broke out between Bretonia and Kusari she was drafted into the armed forces as a person with experience in spacecraft maintenance. Her parents were shortly arrested by the Colonial Authorities on Planet Harris for suspected espionage in a time of war, and moved to Poole, where they would be imprisoned for the duration of the war.
During the War she was stationed aboard the Nagasaki and grew close to the Imperial Ideologies of the War, driven by a desire to see the freedom of her parents achieved. She was assigned as part of the occupation force on Stokes Mining Station, where she assisted in the repair of many of the defense systems. When Gallia invaded the Taus, following Reunion, she was caught in Leeds. As the Imperial power in Kusari crumbled and the allying of the Emperor and Queen, she sought and gained the freedom of her parents with Hogosha and Military connections, and safely transported them to the Golden Dragon Casino. There, in a debt of gratitude to the Emperor, she seeks to serve as an engineer and logistics pilot alongside the Ronin.
Skills and Training: Bachelor of Astronautical Engineering from the University of New Tokyo, extensive experience in Kusari and Bretonian weapon systems, strong ties with Hogosha finances, basic combat and aerial training.
He looks at the officer on desk.
"Sir, Ze'ev Barak has sent me, Here's the note meant for you to have a look"
The officer pauses for a brief moment and moves to the room behind him asking the man to wait for a moment.
Meanwhile, the man ponders over the nearby form and starts filling it.

Status During the Bretonian War: Kusari Navy Gunboat captain
Any Kusari Affiliations: Father was a Wealthy Noble on Planet New Tokyo.
Biographical Information:
Before the war Hayato's family was extremely loyal to Kusari Empire. As Sakamoto was the only son in the family his family expected him to serve Kusari. Sakamoto was accepted into the Naval academy at the age of thirteen on New Tokyo. Sakamoto was there for 5 years and was accepted in the advanced pilot training, also in Advanced hand to hand combat, and the counterintelligence. Graduated in the top Five of his class and distinguished himself with honor. When the war broke out with bretonia he joined the kusari navy and became a fighter pilot. He advanced his way all the way to gunboat captain. When the Emperor took command of the kusari forces in bretonia after the gallic attack, Sakamoto and his crew were ready to serve the Emperor to the last Breath. Sakamoto and his crew fought for the Emperor and In the battle to defend planet Leeds. Sakamoto and his crew got separated in the battle and were cut cut off from the rest of the fleet and did not receive the order to retreat from the system. Sakamoto moved his gunboat in to the west Leeds smog cloud to avoid the Royal navy patrols .
In the cloud sakamoto met two Kusari light fighters that got separated with the fleet. First priority was to make sure his crew were safely hidden from royal navy forces to avoid detection. Then he called a meeting with the two fighter pilots and commanding officers. The decision to send the fighters to scout ahead for the fleet, and potential dangers, then rendezvous 10 days later. The gunboat would try to find any kusari pilots left behind in escape pods or prisoners take in battle. Sakamoto and his crew of 80 men looked for survivors and tried to rescue captured pilots. Sakamoto picked up 8 fighter pilots and rescued 3 addition fighter pilots from the royal navy prison transport en route to nearest prison. Sakamoto waited for 2 weeks for the kusari fighter pilots at the appointed rendezvous location. The additional 4 days waiting put the ships supply at critical levels. A hard choice to make to go ahead and find the supplies needed, but a choice that was made out of desperation to keep what crew he had alive.
They first went through Leeds and found the tau-31 jump hole and took it. Along the way, contact from traders sympathetic to their situation supplied them with enough fuel and supplies to continue to Tau-31. When they got to Tau-31 there first priority was to find some supplies at any means necessary. Sakamoto knew there were no friendly stations to resupply there so he gave the order to attack a royal navy transport carrying food and supplies. Sakamoto and his crew where down to a days worth of food left before they found a transport with supplies. The enemy transport opened fire on sakamoto’s gunboat before anything was said. The transport was then disabled and boarded by twenty men of the ships security force as Sakamoto had no marines on the gunboat at that time. Four of the Men were killed and 6 more wounded but the transport was taken and Sakamoto and his crew got food and medical supplies, Two of the wounded men died but the other four wounded men survived. Now with supplies for a few more weeks Sakamoto and his crew continued their journey to Kusari. Sakamoto’s maps did not have the Tau-31 to Tau-29 jump hole on it, so Sakamoto gave the order to start a search for the jump hole. Sakamoto did not want to try to use the Jumpgate for fear that it would be too heavily guarded for him and his crew. So for about another 2 weeks they dodged royal patrols and trying to find the jump hole to tau-29 but finally they found it. the journey had taken 4 weeks to make it to tau 29 and sakamoto feared that there would be no friendlies in the system for he did not know if the royal navy controlled tau-29. Sakamoto gave the order to head to Freeport 6 hoping it would offer some protection and time to gather more supplies, as well as info on where the location of the fleet. Parts of the non critical areas were stripped to trade for supplies and to keep the ship in battle readiness. More medical supplies were needed to care for the wounded aboard.
Sakamoto and his crew stayed there for one week. In that time, Sakamoto kept the crew busy making needed repairs with what they had, and in some cases surpassed anyones expectation. Modifications were made to the generators and shields to optimize the shields and power output. The crew who were able for duty ran drills to stay focused and ready. Sakamoto made several new contacts on Freeport 6 through traders and travelers that were willing to send any information ahead to him on the location of the remaining fleet.
At the end of the week the ship was battle ready. Information received on the Emperor and the the fleet with the location in Tau-29. With a coded transmission on secure channels, a message was sent for rendezvous location to meet the fleet. A coded message was received with instructions. Sakamoto undocked from freeport 6 and plotted the course to the rendezvous with the fleet in sector E-3. It had taken 5 weeks to find the fleet and get back to friendly space. Along the cost was high with 6 of his crewmembers dead and 2 fighter pilots missing Sakamoto would never forgive himself for their deaths. Sakamoto made a vow to never forget them. Sakamoto did save 8 fighter pilots and rescued 3 from the royal navy so it was not all bad. The rescued fighter pilots joined Sakamoto’s crew to show there thanks. Sakamoto was now ready to serve the Emperor and restore him to power.
Skills and Training: Five years in the Kusari Naval Academy graduated in top Five cadets. Trained in Advanced Hand to hand combat. Trained in Advanced capital ship piloting, and trained in advanced counter intelligence. Served in the Bretonian war.
Status During the Bretonian War: Pilot of the Kusari Naval Forces, stationed with the 35th „Meiji“ reconaissance squadron
Any Kusari Affiliations: Large farmer family living on Kyushu, applicant has had no contact with them recently
Biographical Information:
Kaori has been born as the first child of two farmers living near a smaller city on Planet Kyushu. Soon the young girl was introduced to the profession of their parents, as harvesting rice and some few other crops was the major income of the family. So she spent a larger part of her childhood out on the fields, and soon brothers and sisters who were born into this world joined her.
And so Kaori's early years passed by, telling a not so exciting story that could belong to many other farmer offsprings. But as time went by, the family grew and Kaori got older, she felt the need to leave farm and family behind, as, out there, a world infinitely greater than the rural areas of Kyushu waited. Also, the political developments of the time were not unnoticed – tensions building up between Bretonia and Kusari, and it seemed as if the leaders had set course for war already. With Kyushu being a world close to the soon-to-be war zone, there was a realistic probability that the fight could come to her, if she would not come to the fight. Those and other reasons did their part in convincing Kaori to leave her family, and her homeworld. As she was the oldest child, and a woman too, there of course was some discussion: Her parents' plan for her was rather to take over the farm when they would not be able to take care of it anymore, but not to head out into the world to become a warrior of the emperor. During the discourses, both parties discussed trough several nights, and one or two vases have been destroyed. But in the end, none of this mattered, as Kaori took the initiative, used her authority as oldest offspring to have her siblings back her, and left with nothing but a short goodbye. For the parents, there was nothing but to accept that her daughter would soon be part of the storm that was coming.
Soon after enlisting for the Naval Forces and finishing the basic training, the war with Bretonia finally broke out, and the freshly trained Kaori was assigned to serve on the Nagasaki, together with a mix of young as well as experienced pilots who were to form the new 35th reconaissance squadron. During her time at the frontline she gathered friends as well as experience as the pilots headed out for field reconaissance duties, special missions or just as the occasional counter attack of the Bretonian forces mad an alert launch necessary. It was certainly often a dangerous and hard time, but Kaori mostly experienced it as a good one, alongside her comrades, even sometimes after a mission there was one less spot occupied at the ship's bar.
And then, the real hell broke loose.
When the new Gallic threat turned up and the majority of the Imperial forces were withdrawn from the battlefield and the Emperor himself as well as the few assets remaining in Bretonia and the Taus were essentially cut off there was a time when those rests of the fleet were like a chicken without a head. Fighters had been shot down because they just did not receive clear orders from flight control, ships stranded in no man's land because of the lack of fuel supply. And Kaori? Well, she and three others were simply lost after they retourned from trying to scout a path for the fleet trough the Taus, just to find that the Nagasaki had left its position without anybody notifying the pilots. In the chaos, it was hard for the pilots to even create a plan so they knew what to do. For some time, they roamed the systems, taking supplies from the wreckages of former comrades. Two of Kaori's wingmen were shot down in the void of Tau-31, as a Gallic patrol surprised them as they pumped H-fuel from a badly damaged Chimaera into their tanks. Kaori and the other survivor then took up the fight against the enemy patrol though being outnumbered, just because they did not know what else to do – they were low on fuel as well as oxygen, and they hadn't had something to eat in three days. The fight went on for a while, leading the participants through the ice clouds of the system, until a poorly executed evasive maneuver made Kaori's fighter hit one of the spiky ice blocks. For a moment, Kaori lost all control over the vessel, which started to drift around as if it already was shot down. That was what might have saved her life at the expense of another, as the Gallic pilots – presumably low on nerves and willing to finish the battle – set their focus for the other Chimaera, quickly flying away from her ship. While she managed to restart the flight computer, a quick system check showed most functions, including the weapons, were not operational. And she certainly could keep pace with the little fur ball of ships around his comrade, and so she limped away. Without a plan, without company and without the resources to get any of both.
Somehow, with a lot of luck and scavenging, Kaori actually managed to get to the Freeport in Tau 37, deciding to hide there for a while, trying to figure out what to do next. As the call to arms from the Emperor himself, over three or four corners of course, reached her one evening in the station's bar, it was clear that she would use the chance to get back to the Imperial fleet, as it was clear that hiding under the veil of the Zoners could not be what she wanted to do for the rest of her life, and as there were certainly some issues of the past to solve.
Skills and Training: The applicant graduated from the Imperial Flight school prior to the Breto-Kusarian war, and gathered flight and combat experience during the conflict. During her time of service she gained expertise in using sensor systems of all kind as well as practise in the use of electronic warfare.
