So, that Touketsu didn't work quite as well as I'd hoped. Could someone please pass a note on to the security section requesting that all ships cleared for atmospheric flight actually be capable of atmospheric flight? No cause for stress, we caught the problem before anyone was done well and served with fries, but it would be nice if the sentiment got through. In any event, I found myself heading out to Honshu to pick up a new Wasupu which - I'll add, works like a charm.
Unfortunately, it seemed as though all of Sirius was determined to prove otherwise today.
First, it seems that Itabashi Station has took offence to my ship hanging around and tried to remove both it and me from the mortal coil. I'm not sure if the gunner fell asleep at the targeting controls, or if they've just got something against Wasupus, but I'd prefer it if we could avoid a repeat incident there.
I ended up putting the new ship through some surprise combat trials on way through California, and it handled well enough. I didn't score enough hits to knock anyone out of the sky, but it did get me in and out of a fight against a pirate fleet, and that's got to count for something. The ship (and I) are down on California Minor for repair and rest respectively.

On the upside, I finally arrived back in Bretonia after the techs down on Minor patched up my Wasupu. That was about as positive as the news got, unfortunately, and I ran into a firefight between the Bretonian Armed Forces and a gang of Mercs the Mollies had hired to peel their ships apart. Despite my best efforts, I was too late to save the Bretonian's ships, but I managed to convince the mercs to leave their pods alone after a quick skirmish. Just one catch.
The Reaver, Carnelian (Real name: Andrew), insisted that I accompany him to Freeport 4 in Magellan. Not exactly how I'd planned to spend my afternoon, but it got him away from the pods. Nothing of consequence was said, though it was a relief to get away from the place. To my knowledge, they kept their side of the deal and the Bretons were picked up by their own patrols, but I'd feel better if someone in head shed could dial up the local BAF center and ask. If not, I'll handle it when I get back planetside. I'm docked at Sheffield at the moment, patching up a few dings from that last skirmish.
