Here are a few factors that worked against you:
You were demotivated, as far as I heard. You have enough indies to put up a fun fight, and even win in some cases, which you did a raid and a small event back.
It states KNF and ALLIES. Kempetai, and any other Kusari lawful faction, along with even the Hogosha, Samura, Kishiro could join.
Also a big factor that worked against you was the way someone tried to get people on the KNF side.
Telling someone to drop everything they are doing and join him on your side, in multiple Faction Chats, made some people that could have logged KNF switch sides.

That's because the BD are known for their mostly Cap Players, he tried to balance out the fight, clearly the drama that happened didn't help, but according to both of these events, the BD amassed a huge Capital Fleet, and the KNF Side was severely outnumbered.
