ADDRESSEE: Briggs O'Harley SENDER: Axisdeus SUBJECT: That....help you promised me
CONTENT: Hey there, Doc,
I specifically recall a promise you made , you will help me with a 'special' craft for my Cell. I also remember I promised you details and a few schematics. Well, I got those so let's get on with it, no?!
First, let me say we're still good on that matter we both know of, OK? I kept my side of the bargain, is time for you to keep yours.
Now, to the specifics, the vessel in question is an old Kestrel freighter, stripped down of all those unnecessary things used for cargo hauling. Safety locks, pressurized bulkheads, additional venting, cooling and some other system, all gone. I must say I was surprised to see how much space it freed up. Add to that some of the defensive auto-turrets and the point-blank MDS and you can get a picture. So, space will not be an issue, or should not be, if you'll give some of the fancier smaller toys your people work with.
Speaking of freeing up, the power core is also free of all those loads the systems removed were necessitating. So, I guess that thing should not be an issue either. Even so, if your guys can figure out something, please be my guest. A bit more kick for the gallon won't hurt either.
Now, equipment. Well, my tech guys had some probe launchers installed, 3 to be more exact, in the front end of the craft. They use a common launching platform. What I ask from you is some deep space probes, capable of generic surveying. I am sure you know better what I am trying to say here. Some gravimetric readings, radiation, that stuff, so I will not have to send the craft blindly in a ...nebula lets say. Along with the probes, I'll need a fix on the subspace antenna. What point to have some nice fancy new probes if I can't read them. The fix can be managed by my personnel. You just provide the frequencies and all that.
Another thing I am interested is a Gas analyzer. My guys removed the cargo cooling system and the intakes plus the freed up space could be enough for a system like that. See what you can do, all right? Ah, along with that, fix a spectrometer in the former cargo venting system. The schematics will give more insight on type and placement.
Now the main course. All those cargo pods I think can be re-purposed for planetary entry. Stick in a multi-purpose drone in each one and shoot it off into the atmosphere. I don't think a subspace link is needed for this so a simple controller for each unit should be enough. As far as I recall there were 5 cargo pods. Concerning the cargo pods, my guys will handle the strengthening. You know, flames and all that...planetary entry is hell. You just come up with a drone design to fit in them. The available space in each pod is generous to say the least. The control unit for the planetary probes should be on board the craft. No fancy AI needed either, just some basic functions. Ah, and couple all the sensors to the console. Makes life easier.
To top it off, I'd want a small multi survey radiation meter and a couple of not so fancy imaging devices.
I know you must be thinking I am mad and this is not what you though you are bargaining for. But, you know, is all worthed. More to it, is not for nothing. I told you to think of a price. I am willing to hear out another offer now the cat is out of the bag. But you know, from 'neighbor' to 'neighbor'.
[11.08.2015 13:32:00] O'Rhu|CV-Rahotep: Axisdeus: I need an upgrade on a vessel.
[11.08.2015 13:32:21] O'Rhu|CV-Rahotep: Axisdeus: Nothing fancy, a new probe system, some more advance drones.
[11.08.2015 13:32:39] O'Rhu|CV-Rahotep: Axisdeus: They will be remotely operated from the said vessel.
[11.08.2015 13:32:50] Canaan|Hel: Briggs: Oh...so basic AI tech...OK...that can be arranged.

[11.08.2015 13:48:41] O'Rhu|CV-Rahotep: Axisdeus: We'll see about the final price once I send you the plans.
[11.08.2015 13:48:55] Canaan|Hel: Briggs: Alright.
