This is a very weird glitch...I don't know if it is a known issue, or not....basically, a couple of my characters have hold sizes of a few units smaller than the ship hold should be...its just a handful...but unexplainable....its not armour or consumables... in the case of, say, my character "Fake.Name", his Arrastra should have an unladen hold size of 275 its showing as 269 free when totally empty...this character has NO armour equipped , by the way, its weird....Do certain weapons or pieces of ship equipment (other than armour, obviously) now use cargo space? Codenames say? I have unequipped everything...sold all cargo and consumables but its still the same available size....could this be looked into?...I could try buying the same ship again...but I don't fancy losing a few Millions just to check and then have the new one show up the same....

Would this include transport Shields? or maybe the Mini Razor? I bought 3 Kusari civilian Cleanser turrets recently...they look pleasantly bulky on the ship, do they take up space?...I'm not bitching about this by the way...I think its an excellent development....I'm all for anything that necessitates a bit of thought and cunning....space versus defensive capabilities...tradeoffs and so on...excellent! Like this particular ship can equip a fighter shield too....so...that'd be cause for thought if it took up less space, for example....good stuff...I was just confused about this...unaware of the development. Is there a list or spreadsheet some place?

oh...also I was talking about equipped codenames not just something sitting in the hold...but yeah...this seems cool...
I notice now that something like armour..if you select it in the equipment dealers..it shows as a highlighted space in your cargo blocks...this is visible because its a relatively large proportion of the blocks, I guess...like with another character....his Armour and one codename explain his 21 units used....fair enough...now....his freighter shield seems to use no cargo space...but then he's in an actual freighter...Might it be that because the Arrastra is technically a fighter that it uses up space if I equip a freighter shield? It would be handy if there was some kind of spreadsheet covering this stuff...hopefully there is one...or a list?

I think that it might be the Mini Razor that I have equipped....it seems to be highlighting some cargo space when its selected....unfortunately I'm not docked anywhere that likes me enough to sell me another one (just briefly) to check...
That and the 2 codenames making 6 "missing" cargo spaces would mean that a mini Razor takes up 4 units on its own, rather a lot for a weapon I seldom use.......I cant see anything else that it could be....it doesn't seem to be the shield after all...I checked by buying a second one with no change....
I have noticed that shields takes up space. I'm not sure how much though. I noticed it when I filled up my transport, then decided to upgrade the shield, and it said I do not have enough cargo space, even though the old, smaller shield was already sold. It doesn't mention the amount of cargo spaces it takes anywhere and this would be nice to add to the description so people know what they're in for before spending a couple of million on something.
I did not know codenames takes up space. I take it you are referring to the ID? It totally makes sense if they do though. I remember the one time I got a flat tyre, and couldn't get to the spare wheel without removing my name from the trunk first...

Hah! yeah, its the Mini Razor....I tried the somewhat scary experiment of dismounting it and jettisoning it in space and indeed it freed up four units....cue an immediate attack by a bunch of Farmers alliance nut jobs firing madly at me....I got it back however....so now...this is interesting stuff...as an ore miner...do I keep my bigger, badder weapons or downgrade to provide more cargo units, (space being at a premium on the Arrastra...275 is pretty good for a fighter...but with being a gypsy miner and all...sometimes doing my own hauling...not really that much)...same goes for armour....
So mystery solved...and as I say...anything that involves the need for cunning and crazy workarounds and careful consideration....."Its a mad idea Jim....but...it just might work!" is my idea of fun....
Sorry if this has been a bit of a waste of time...I'm just so out of the loop on stuff...new developments etc...but this seems cool.
