So, I'd like to start a discussion on POBs, or to be exact on their supplying.
In my feeling, the supplying was made to give unlawfuls (or to be exact, the opposite side) more opportunities for interactions, what's good, but I'm not so sure if it works as it was intended. In fact, supplying is one of the most annoying aspects of this game, as you simply have to do it despite literally everything. It's quite demotivating, especially when your playerbase becomes lower and lower and such actions are more and more annoying.
So, I would like to ask and discuss some possible reworks in terms of base supplying.
Firstly, I doubt that it can be removed at all, tho it would be a cool area for deep breath, but well, lets be realistic.
So secondly, maybe some off-supplying-time based on scientific data? For example a month withno FOW & repair commodities consumption.
Thirdly, in terms of trading factions, it could be regulated by the activity. For example, if your faction's been active for certain amount of time, then nothing happens. If it hasn't the base either gets downgraded by a core, or less harshly, gets one of their modules removed. That way, the playerbase working around this installation would be provided with more freedom in terms of actions, and wouldn't be demotivated by a large burden of regular supplies. And in my feeling, it would be more user friendly, while still would create a plenty of opportunities for the opposite side to interact with.
Just some thoughts, please share your feelings and proposals.

People are right now complaining of capital ships, if they made pobs any easier, they'd be getting cloaks and other gear left right and center when others have had to work harder for it, which would also on top of that cause them to go on about that, too.

I may have misread, but, Do you have any idea how long some people have worked to get to core 5? take isle of skye and long island station for example. they've worked for months, probbably years of roleplay to get to where they are today.
So secondly, maybe some off-supplying-time based on scientific data? For example a month withno FOW & repair commodities consumption. They did that for christmas but it was causing huge ammounts of buggy problems and caused the server to crash multiple times too.

I don't know much about the way POBs are Setup and all but have plans for a Faction that will need them so My question/Option would be for supply side anyway:
Code:
What if All players regardless of faction/tag could supply the bases with Supplies? the same way you can sell Stuff at bases (ie: Friendly, non faction member but allowed to dock, sell repair parts to the base for credits and those parts count to whats needed.)
or is that what can happen already? Like I said I don't know much about POBs but the basic information Ive found on the Wiki pages.
Jasoneagle -- Liberty Navy(non player faction)
Talen -- Independent Free Trader
Markus.Cole -- Miner

You can have control over who can and who can't dock. but people mostly restrict it to their own factions because they don't want them stealing any equipment already made for other people
Well, i can say 2 things about
1- Indeed suplying pobs can be annoying, especially if you make cloaks and your base eat RA like hell, but theres ppl around willing to do it, for a fee, so if some way to bases be more rentable could be imagined, would be np AND theres sometging to ppl that suck at pvp do
2- Upgrading bases should be way easier.
I have a followup question.
I'm planing on building a small base to serveas mining platform. Does it make sense to develop it further or will I be happy with the very basic core 1? I need it just for storage until we come along with a bunch of 5k-ers and empty it in a few runs - then again mine and store.
Any advice will be greatly apreciated,
It's more likely you get more people when you have more storage. Remember you have to ensure the PoB has enough Food, Water and Oxygen to have the crew maintaining it. And nothing is more annoying to a trader than a PoB that is dry after two 5k runs.
