Last night, began with patrol of the Texas system, provoked due to heightened activity. No serious criminal activity discovered. A number of minor rogue pilots where delivered to Sugarland following a series of Lane Hacks.
Tried to fend of a Phantom attack at the California Jumpgate. My ship was destroyed after 10 minutes or so, and I'm ashamed to say that the battle was lost.
My escape pod was tractored, my ship rebuilt, and I continued with the evening's business.
Returned to New York and helped the system prepare for an incoming solar radiation storm. Shortly before docking, the distrubance destroyed a battleship patrol nearby and I rescued the ranking officers of the ships, delivering them to the Missouri after the storms had passed.
Some time after the storm, I was disturbed to find further spacial disturbances and anomalies that lead to the destruction of more Liberty Navy ships. Some claimed it was the manifestation of a space-faring entity called "Bulldognk" but I refuse to accept such things exist.
Later, a known Corsair; Jose_Carlos was sighted near Manhattan. I, and a number of Liberty Navy officers engaged the pilot. He began running, but our cruise disruptor made short work of his engines. He dodged and weaved in the direction of the Detroit Debris Field, with our fighters hot on his tail... Eventually, we managed to deplete his store of regens, and he continued weaving with little hull left.
He then rendezvoused with a Corsair Gunboat somewhere near a Junker Base in the field. I can only assume repair equipment was exchanged between the vessels. The Gunboat engaged, and SA called for bomber support. We dodged heavy fire from it's turrets until they arrived.
Afew minutes after their arrival, the Gunboat managed to land a series of hits upon my Fighter. My regens where mostly depleted, and I had sustained heavy hull damage, so broke off and returned to a friendly base for repairs.
Shortly after, I received news that both Corsairs had been destroyed. I find it disturbing that these ships managed to find their way into the heart of Liberty, and I am gravely concerned that this, along with increased smuggling into Liberty by suspected Corsair sympathisers, may be preparations for an invasion.
I intend to step up patrols through the Detroit Debris field in the coming weeks, and if I am in a position in which I can interrogate one of these Junkers, I will demand information on just how extensively their guild is involved with Corsair raiders.
