Guten Morgen Offiziere.
I apologize for the lateness of this report. I decided to stand down Schoneck for a day to take care of this after reading the latest RCDB entries.
Earlier last week, we conducted live-fire exercises with an ad-hoc taskforce in Sigma-15. In the course of these exercises, we spotted an Outcast gunship Bautista.Pliego+ on the periphery of Freeport 9. Soon after, however, we were accosted by a GMG gunship Yaima.Maru, which demanded that we vacate the system. As the exercises only just started, I pointed the captain towards the Outcast gunship, and the GMG vessel promptly engaged it, with both disappearing beyond scanner range due to their maneuvering.
The GMG gunship was back after some 20 minutes, once again demanding that we leave, and threatening retribution. In order to avoid escalation, I recommended that they report back to their Guildmaster, just as we would report back to the Oberkommando. The GMG captain agreed, but continued to observe our exercises while making more threats. With no additional vessels appearing, we finished the live-fire exercises and proceeded back to Frankfurt for an after-action debrief.
Considering the actions of the GMG outlined by Oberrätin Bommel, I strongly suspect that the reason this gunship did not engage was due to the superiority of our force. This issue is more severe than I believed at the time, and I would prefer that it be addressed before conducting more exercises in Sigma-15. Additionally, the GMG captain mentioned hostile actions taken against them by Kruger representatives. To me, this sounds like a thin falsehood in order to exonerate the GMG for cargo piracy against Kruger, considering the rich Aluminum deposits in the system.
The logs of the incident will follow shortly, as the Schoneck's core has recently undergone an emergency purge. I have already contacted the other vessels on the scene for their logs of the event.
Für den Kaiser! Für das Volk! Für Rheinland!
Hochachtungsvoll,
Kristof Boll
