It was all because I used to have iPhone 3GS, which worked perfectly for 5 years. Then it died.. But nevermind.
Govedo, that tutorial actually works with slight modifications ( using redsn0w instead of iFaith ), but there's a problem. You need iOS 6.1.3 SHSH blobs. Which I dont have, obviously, and I cant find them on net. Maybe because every phone has it's own, but np, they can be used on other devices. So... That's the only way to downgrade atm, and I'm dealing with it right now.
About jailbreak. It'l actually come out very soon. According to some sites I'm stalking, Evasi0n team got their hands on all data they need for jailbreak, and they are working on it right now. Maybe they even did it already. Problem is, they are waiting for something ( noone knows what ) so they put it in public. Maybe they are waiting for iOS 7.1, maybe for new iPhone/iPad, who knows. So that'l be my second choice, which applies that I'l have to wait for some time.
And last, nah.. I'd rather stick to Apple and their evil iPhones than switch on Androids. Yeah I know it sucks, but when you jailbreak it, do few tricks with Cydia, customize it, blah blah etc etc, it's actually a good phone. I'm using iPhones for 6-7 years. Had 2, then 3GS and now 4S. I'm used to that stuff.
Why do you want to jailbreak it in the first place? Forgive me if I am asking stupidly, but if the problem is the Croatian network can't you just get the phone sim-unlocked at any street-side stall for 10 quid or so?
Speaking from experience with both Android and iOS (and Xbox 360 too actually), jailbreaking is a hassle - not so much doing it, but maintaining the system and having delayed access to some functionality in applications designed for newer versions of the operating system. It's like a small version of running Linux as your main OS on your computer, it has to be a hobby or you'll get annoyed by it.
Because only way to unlock my phone is via Cydia, which you get after jailbreak. And no. If you have phone from foreign country, unlock cost you ~100 euros. Which is like you bought another phone. So.. Nah.
From my experience, there's only one bad thing about jailbreak. You get notification in setting about new version of iOS and so many nice stuff it brings. But no, you have to download iOS manually, mess with jailbreak ( if you're lucky. If you arent, there's no jailbreak out yet. Like now... ) and then unlock it, customize it again, install apps back, etc etc. But since major updates come once or twice a year, it's not really a problem.
Anyways, I got another idea. I'l try to unlock and activate my phone without jailbreak. I read something about IMEI unlock, don't know much about it. Anyone?
