How will it destroy your life? I know plenty of people in the British Army and they seem perfectly fine to me. I don't know if you have been in the military but it seems an okay place to me.

P.S. Those conspiracy theories don't appeal to me at all. It is interesting the first or second time you read such rubbish, but it gets annoying when you keep reading it for years and years on forums, where they are being written by some teenage philosophers, professors and geniuses.
That was just my opinion about it, my reason why not to join any military. I am not parrot to copy someone else. No philosophy, no conspiracy, just my truth. I think saying only "No" isn't enought to express my opinion, so I did that.. mind?

If you want to remain uneducated for the rest of your life please do join the army. I mean that's what armies profit from eh? Young fools looking for Video Game excitement. willing to put the golden years of their lives for a poster or speeches of patriotism.
P.S. No offense, but the shepherd needs a flock you know.

I think you should stop typing because what you're saying is so offensive.

I'm not going to get into the whole conversation here, but just to point something out to you, saying something offensive and then adding 'no offence' to the end of it does not infact make the statement any less offensive.
I've never been a fan of it and I most certainly never endorsed it and even opposed my friends from thinking of joining it simply because I was a pacifist for a while there. But recently, my views have changed.
If you like to serve your country in such a way, then go ahead! There shouldn't be anyone holding you back from what you want to do and looking at the OP, you seem to be passionate about it.
Although, I'll repeat what Joe said, don't be so sure about what you want to do at 16. I know for a fact that my life goals are usually changed daily because of an inspiring speech or informative ad.
But honestly, take some time to think about this, because unlike other professions, Military based jobs tend to have more drastic side effects.
Its about time i replied after reading all this, but to see people different opinions on a Military career is interesting, but all this Bark and no bite about the Armed forces being a bad place is something that is understandable, but to an extent. I also need to mention that i am with the ATC (Air training corps) and its normally best if i get training down if i do ever turn towards a Military career.
You have to also remember that this is an Optional career choice if my current one is either obstructed and/or isn't really "Clicking in". I understand that i am 16, but doesn't mean that i will drop everything and halt my eduction to pick up a firearm and open fire in the distance.
But what is not appreciated is that some are looking at a Military career as the taboo of the world. And one thing that is clear for me is that as long as there is an option for me to take it, it will be stuck in my head to either go or not until I've walked up into that recruitment office and signed the papers. But that doesn't mean i will.
I thank you for the civil discussions from some, but it seems hostilities of views and suspicions from others could turn this thread into something i never wished it to be.
I'd like a request to lock this thread for the better respect of others.

That's an opinion and I am free to express it, why is it so bloody difficult?
