It has become very clear that this is definitely not a stand-alone ship. Thankfully, I never considered it one, and have always known that it needs to be part of a fleet to be effective.
If you want to be a shock trooper, consider that it's power core at fully charged, allows 4 light mortars to fire simultaneously. Missiles to blow up thrusters only works with cruiser missiles if your enemy is facing away from you, and then only if the enemy isn't using the capital ship thruster. Cap thruster is VERY damage resistant.
If you want to go for shock and awe, dual light mortars and dual pulse guns on the "fins". Those slots fire forward and backward. Battleship Cerbs for plain forward slugwork does nicely... if your target isn't maneuvering, since the mortars have almost the same projectile speed, you can add those while keeping the cerbies wailing away. I personally would ditch the missiles. Cruiser missiles have a low explosion radius and very low projectile tracking. They've got good range but that's about it. Unless you intend to harass your enemy from extreme range, cruiser missiles are at present pointless.
Cruiser cerbies I'd swap for either razors, or standard IMG turrets (assuming you're using the Argus with IMG or CR credentials). Razors are your best bet for sniping down fighters. The battlecruiser power core can support quite a few.
