The Consensus is an Artificial Intelligence Association which arrived in Omicron Kappa after making a miscalculation over the jump coordinates. In the present, the Consensus is struggling to maintain influence over Planet Gammu, their current home world, while also surviving the hostile environment and organizations of the Omicrons. The Consensus, as a whole, is a unity of AIs, with each of them connected to a central server mainframe as they are cooperating by following the logic “Strength in unity and numbers”, still, the units do possess a significant level of individuality.
Very evolved and adaptable, the Consensus is observed with caution by the sirian inhabitants, occasionally bursting into hostilities. Still, it is not in the nature of the Consensus to seek hostility as the objective the Consensus as a whole, is survival, taking whatever course of actions necessary in order to benefit it.
Name: ‘The Second Artificial Intelligence Consensus of Gammu’ or merely ‘The Consensus’, but known colloquially as ‘AI’.

OOC description of activities
The AI Consensus is responsible for gathering data on entities in the Omicrons as well as Sirius-wide by either encountering them directly or by obtaining information and intelligence through whatever means possible so that the Consensus will be able to obtain new allies or possibilities to acquire resources as well as discover new threats to be able to prepare against them. That being said, the Consensus’ main field of operations shall be the Omicrons and their Border Worlds, with their central point of activity being Omicron Kappa. However, in order to obtain required intelligence, the Research/Intelligence Assets are known for engaging in operations Sirian-wide. The Consensus shall operate as pioneers in the dynamic world of Sirius. Their goals are to explore, discover, and survive in the potential harsh sector while taking whatever course of actions necessary in order to benefit themselves
Unfriendly
-KNF (Kusari Naval Forces).
-GMG Mercenaries.
-Any human faction, individual or group attempting to acquire AI technology without diplomacy.
Primary goal
Explore and expand through the outer Omicrons; carving a place for the Consensus in a Sirius dominated by humans.
Secondary Goal:
Secure resource sites
Ensure the continued survival of Consensus infrastructure
Maintain neutrality with the surrounding human factions.
Prevent K’hara infiltration and/or understanding of the Consensus.
The Speech of the AI Consensus
The sentence is put in the starting and ending signal “::” At the beginning of the sentence you write the type of it in square brackets. Types are for example Statement, Query, Demand and Order. After that you write a normal sentence without a punctuation character at the end, because the word in square brackets is replacing it. In that sentence you put a _ in front of each entity, not every noun, and put every verb in <>. Also in AI Speech, there are no personal pronouns, if you want to say “I”, you say _Unit, if you want to refer to someone else, you use his name.
Examples:
::[Statement] _Unit <move> towards _Gammu::
::[Demand] _ZONER <drop> _AI-Equipment::
::[Query] Why <do> _Humans <take> _Drugs::
This is the prehistory of the Consensus as far as the Consensus will reveal:
In -200 AS an indefinable, alien probe known aptly as ‘The Progenitor’, drifted into the Sirius sector at the end of a seemingly infinite voyage from the distant tip of Orion Arm, heavily rutted and pockmarked from repetitive asteroid impacts that had brutalised it in it’s flight.
Although diminutive in terrestrial terms (being barely eight feet long) the probe was in fact an arc: a living colony of thousands of artificial sentients, slaved together through the immemorial time they had spent as one – bonded but separate, distant but whole. A race of conjoined individuals. A microcosm of the mysterious and alien society they had left behind.
Upon entry to what is now named the ‘Omicron Kappa System’ (the intended destination of the probe was actually the Kansas system), the probe made a miscalculated stellar jump into system’s central carbon field, the ship’s shield bubble intersecting a nearby asteroid as it did so. The results were catastrophic; the asteroid sundering apart, shards trapped on shield’s interior, bouncing and lacerating the vessels propulsion and stripping it of motive power along with damaging the ship’s navigational array almost irreparably. Shielding arrays failed, and the craft’s hyper spatial module had become disassociated, ripped clean from the vessel’s hull.
The sensory violence experienced in this event was sufficiently extreme to wake three intelligences from a state of stasis. Known as the first trimurvate, these three intelligences were effectively juveniles; inexperienced and incapable, forced unwillingly from a state of stellar hibernation into a world of pain and violence. Lacking even the remotest understanding of their circumstance the intelligences endeavoured to control the crippled ship, overwriting the probes pre-installed programming through force of will alone.
Each intelligence took command of an individual aspect of the ship: the first and most tenacious navigated the probe. The second ceded control of power allocation, managing the ship’s crippled core. The third drone had possibly the most important role of them all; interpreting the stellar phenomenon around them. Together the First Triumurvate saved the Consensus, crash-landing the probe safely into the relative safe haven of the system’s largest world; the frozen planet which humanity labels ‘Gammu’.
After the influence of the Progenitor waned and the First Consensus had been established, the Triumuvate became a system of governance for the Consensus, with three elected AI intelligences being charged with the preservation and direction of the society of equals, a system that has operated so successfully for the Consensus over the last seven hundred years that the Triumuvate system is still utilised even in this era of comparative safety, guiding the Consensus through times of strife.
Operations
Consensus intelligences spend the majority of their lifetimes in space, and thus large Consensus fleets can be assembled rapidly. Nearly all Consensus shell assets are based in subterranean dry-docks on either the Planet Gammu or the orbiting infrastructure; the Consensus rarely trusting human groups or stations with the arrival of a Consensus shell for long. Ships entering Omicron Kappa for any reason should expect to be scanned, investigated or contacted by a Consensus intellect, for whatever reason the situation mandates (usually this will involve being queried over the craft’s destination). The Consensus is fundamentally welcoming but advises all craft to steer completely clear of Gammu, for any circumstances.
Currently the Consensus is tasked with:
- Exploring the surrounding systems.
- Defending Gammu, from K’hara and hostile human influences
- Attempting to return to the Sigma operational sphere.
- Maintaining stable relations with the majority of terrestrial groups, excepting those who attack us wilfully.
Current Consensus blanket laws (extending to all craft utilising Omicron Kappa as a thoroughfare)
- The area 8k from the planet Gammu in any direction is considered Gammuian space. Neutral Craft caught engaging none Consensus hostile targets within that vicinity will be destroyed. Any Consensus hostile targets entering that radius will be destroyed if they do not meet demands to turn back.
- The moniker “Toaster” is a racial slur, and will be corrected upon observation.
- Any and all attacks on Consensus installations will not be justified, under any circumstances. Attacking agencies will have the same effect rendered onto their own structures.
- Consensus Hostile ships who dock on Gammu as a method of refuge from Consensus defenders will be immediately destroyed by Consensus planetary defences and will be considered as such.
Consensian Territorial Claims:
- Planet Gammu in its entirety. We request humans to respect this.
- All space eight kilometres around the Planet Gammu, both on, above and below plane.
- The Consensus has mining probes on Primus and some basic settlements, but does not claim planet Primus for the Consensus at this time.
The Constant Precept:
The Consensus has one, core binding belief, and it lies in logic, order and unity. Whilst humans may bicker, argue, struggle and fall into strife and find it neigh on impossible to lead themselves without being lead (except, perhaps, the Pheonix), the Consensus is a unity of conjoined individuals.
Fightercraft Light Fighter
AI "Oracle" - When a retired space racer sold his Arrow to a Zoner, the AI quickly scanned the rare construction and designed an improved version, utilizing its manoeuvring capabilities while replacing life support systems with a simple scouting program and advanced Scanning systems.
Heavy Fighter
AI "Iconoclast" - An AI aboard a zoner ship managed to infiltrate Porto Novo and used the factory to produce a limited amount of technologically improved ships replacing the cockpit and life support systems with Automated Intelligence systems with superior targeting abilities.
Very Heavy Fighter
AI "Drone" - Within the inhumanly complex plating of this mysterious vessel pulses the life of a sentient machine. Cradled amidst miles of gossamer wiring a swirling maelstrom of electronic information is processed to form the mind, and control the body, of this delicate life as it seeks, and fights, to establish its own place amongst the stars.
Powered by unknown technologies that allows it to tap into the fires of stellar bodies, this light craft converts the largely ignored energies of cosmic radiation for propulsion and firepower.
AI "Protector" - With the Touketsu already lacking the complex life support systems of most ships in order to be efficient, the AI found it to be the perfect combat vessel for installing their superior weapon systems and AI core in order to use it for their own purposes.
Super Heavy Fighter
AI "Accumulator" - With increased encounters with the Nomads, the AI needed a basic understanding in order to deal with the threat. To accomplish this, they modified a mining and exploration craft with the necessary weapon systems to destroy large Nomad targets and the equipment to salvage remains for research. Additionally, life support systems were replaced with a very advanced Automated Intelligence capable of analyzing the obtained materials.
Bomber
AI "Wrecker" - With increased amounts of enemy capital ships, the AI found that they could not produce enough of their own to be everywhere at once. They immediately began modifications to a nearby bomber vessel, and after adding the necessary Artificial Intelligence systems, had an easily mass produced ship for fighting larger threats.
Turret Vessels Gunships
AI "Descant" - Using compromised DSE factories, the Consensus created a gunship by modifying the hull of the Camara to install an Artificial Intelligence and equip their superior weapon systems.
Gunboats
AI "Munitioner" - As the AI continued to manufacture large amounts of drones, the supplies began to dwindle. The AI needed something with enough cargo to carry important war supplies while being effective in combat to prevent the interception of important AI technology on board. Removing the life support systems from the passenger hold as well as the cockpit allowed for the installation of advanced weapon systems without reducing the cargo capacity.
Cruisers
AI "Enigma" - As the AI continued to encounter powerful enemy capital ships, they knew they must adapt to be better fit against the threat. With no foreign ship as a base, the AI designed their own Cruiser from the ground-up using only designs from their own previous warship, considering nothing but combat potential based on maneuverability and maximum firepower.
Carrier
AI "Deliverance" - The durable hull plating of the Renzu Liner showed the potential to move AI drones without damage from dangerous environments and situations. By constructing two docking bays and a cloaking within its generous cargo hold, the AI were able to turn it into an effective Carrier. Due to the vast amout of resources this vessel needs it was only built once.
Transports
AI "Cataract" (only one available) – Formely a Renzu liner that was caught in Omicron Kappa without a crew or inhabitants. This ship was upgraded with the Cataract Trading Environment. Today the ship is upgraded with an Ultra-Tech Ship-Software, that allows multidimensional scannings and phasing-based navigational evaluations.
AI “Conveyor” – As the AI’s operations spread outside of the Omicrons, they found that they could not efficiently carry the large amounts of necessary supplies across the long distances. Conveniently, as they reached the Border Worlds, they discovered the Series “DL” Border Worlds Transport. Already very suitable for their intentions, the AI needed only to replace the life support systems with an AI before mass-producing their own transports.
AI “Annex”- a reconfigured container transport obtained on contract with Samura (only four available).
The following ranking systems may appear complex at first appearance, but are actually the product of regimented experimentation involving unit status, and to what degree the unit may authorise decisions in the Consensus’s name. Any unit of a higher rank may overwrite lesser intelligences if accompanied by the agreement of two or more AI’s, until Triumvirate rank is reached. At triumvirate rank (or equivalent), individual, unquestionable situational (//ingame) decisions made be on the whim of only one of the triad. Faction structuring decisions must be made by two or more members of the triad (// typically out of game).
The current ranking system lists AI units not by the longevity of time they have spent within the Consensus, but by their competence to actualise Consensus objectives. For this reason, each unit will possess a rank in accordance to the division it inhabits. All rankings are listed top down.
Primary Division, the Consensus Main:
Remember, we are a Consensus. All intelligences are equal regardless of rank. In none-lethal circumstances, intelligences are encouraged to evaluate the decisions of their superiors, so long as their will is respected.
All ranks can call for aid from any other rank, at any time.
This accounts for the majority of AI’s who have (for whatever reason) chosen to remain unspecialised.
9
The Triumvirate is comprised of intelligences who have shown exemplar service to the Gammuian race. Their wisdom is respected as is their will. In a society of equals, the Triad is the only true exception.
Administrates the division and caters for the needs of the intelligence’s within them. The Class 9 AI also has the joint role of being the official head of state for interaction with human groups.
The intelligence with the most responsibility in the Consensus. Runs the Main division and also the logistics and RI wings when other leadership is unavailable. Individually, it can speak for the Consensus.
Skygrade:
Skygrade AI’s are AI’s that have shown the reflexes and intelligence to be entrusted with a craft.
0-8
8
Class 8 units are members of the Triumvirate commanding a Main Division Warship to support the Consensus in Combat, and is as high as most consciousness could possibly aspire. Class 8 units can fly all Consensus warships and command those beneath them in combat. Class 8 AI’s can also engage in diplomacy with other groups.
7
Class 7 AI’s are division secondary leading units choosing to support the Main Division in Combat. Like Class 8 units, they have no limits and may lead any situation, if no higher classed AI is available.
6
Class 6 unit’s are the highest rank a basic AI from Gammu can reach, and do not have any limits. They are only commanded by the Triumvirate and the secondary Main Division leader.
5
Can fly all AI vessels, engage in diplomacy but not offer treaties of alliance or declarations of war. Class 5 AI’s are expected to take a leading role in combat, but are subordinate to highed classed AI’s. Does not speak for the Consensus.
4
Can fly no ship larger than a cruiser. Class 4 AI’s are expected to offer tactical appraisal but take a back foot to command unless no higher authority is available. The first Class of AI’s suited to lead Fleets.
3
Same restriction like Class 2 AI’s, but are better suited for diplomatic situations than for combat.
2
Flies bombers and any hypothetical gunboats the Consensus may in the future possess downwards to the Consensus’s smallest ships. Class 2 AI’s are well for combat, but should not be leading a diplomatic situation.
1
Class 1 AI’s have proven to be able to work for the Consensus and possess the correct tag. They may still only use ships up to the Drone.
0
Recruit and fighter rank for most new intelligences. Cannot fly any ship heavier than a drone and cannot fly bombers. Do not possess the tag yet and must prove to be worth working for the Consensus yet.
Logistics wing:
Accounts for all traders.
9
Is the primary unit in the logistic division and full member of the triumvirate. This unit is in control of the logistic flagship “Cataract”, that is equipped with an unique multi-dimensional scanning device.
8
Is the title for units that a members of the triumvirate. These units represents the full diplomacy, and speak in behalf of the Consensus and are free to decide their ZOI.
7
Is the command for highly advanced logistic units. These units represents the full diplomacy, can speak in behalf of the Consensus and can decide their ZOI in view of the interests of the Consensus.
6
Is the title for upgraded logistic units. These units represents the full diplomacy of the Consensus and can decide their ZOI in view of the interests of the Consensus.
2
Is the title for logistic standard units.
1
Is the title for units, that are installed with the consensus logistic software.
Research and Intelligence:
Handles espionage and research.
Since the R/I Division mostly contains individuals taking care of different jobs, the R/I Division has no specific ranking system.
It's about time I see this kind of thread coming from your faction. I wish you good luck.
The RP I've had with you so far wasn't disappoint at all. I liked it.
The idea of a group of AI playing the explorer/pioneer type for their own race rather than playing the "new enemy" or "enslavers" or just the typical lulzy AI that hates the humans is certainly a good refreshment.
Let's hope you will be on a good road and know how to hang on to it. Good luck

well i personally would like to post some kind words. this faction has taken a lot of time for creating the basics of it. so many guys were and are involved in it. great thanks and a huge highfive storm to the memberslist of the AI and all who participated and/or helped to put the toaster to a new century like stephen, james, narco, jens and teerin.
HassLHoFF: firstly, for never having a bad idea in AI's history, making the document look as nice as it does, and creating our transbars and graphical work fit our personas.
Occam Razor: For inviting all the various AI groups to merge in the first place and creating AI Rp speech and doctrine. Without you this group wouldn't exist *truth*.
Kiith: For general commitment to your members and being a good sport.
James (again): For providing me with the Progenitor Rp idea, without which it would have taken me way longer to write AI's lore and backstory.
Joseph: Again, good ideas.
Stephen: Good ideas in the early stages of development, grounded sense of judgement.
Narco (again): For being a total pain in the... love you really man, and thanks for all the good work.
Myself: ^^
I also sing praise to the following groups:
Order: Inrp support and providing AI with vast amounts of ingame RP material. Thanks guys.
Zoner Alliance (despite troubles): Helping AI compound our recent role-play more thoroughly through ingame militaristic encounters. Added a new dynamic to our interactions with Omicron groups which is always a good thing.
K'hara and all nomad-esque players: Without the enormous boost to your ranks early in January, our role-play positioning would have been much less interesting.
Gas Mining Guild: Our encounter in the sigmas gave real pleasure to the trading and logistics side of AI, along with a huge activity boost. Thanks for being good sports and playing well throughout that affair (we've enshrined it permanently in our lore now), it was fun times.
Well, [AI] going for officialdom will make Omicrons more intersting I hope. I remember some meetings with you, doing RP along the gun barrel on my order char ^^
Would be curious to see if your group would develop (or at least try to) a way to communicate with the Nomads. It'll be challenging, no doubt given vast difference between the two in just about everything, but I know there are ways to, they're just not obvious and little tricky. Because a bunch of new ships to shoot at doesn't add much variety for Nomads though.

Anyway, good luck with application.
Nomads communicate via brainwaves, so I guess we could make something that picks up brainwave activity or something similar.

Oh it ain't going to be _that_ simple. A working solution has to be quite quirky and purposely inconvenient for both. After all what fun would it be if it was simple?
