The research facility was impressive. Rachel Winterton, part of the Ingenuus Research Group sits back in the decent sized cafeteria of the research base, only to put her feet up on a chair next to her.
Wearing a simple dark shirt and jeans, not really liking to wear the 'standard' clothing that a normal scientist prefers, with big pockets. So far, her job was quite an interesting one. Ever since the move, the subjects that was to be looked into was actually quite interesting. Unheard of to an extent, however that's just how she liked things. A challenge.
But, that's not the point right now. A place to relax, as well as some food? That was quite higher on her priority list.
Wandering over to the cafeteria counter, she slides a credits chip across the counter, only to grab a salad. Anything over synth paste. ANYTHING over synth paste. She despises the stuff. Taking a seat at the table once more, kicking her feet up on the chair as if a bad habit, she surveys the room.
"Not too many other members of the team have arrived yet, huh.. Disappointing. Alone it is." Grabbing a plastic fork, taking a bite of the food in front of her, merely waiting for someone else to show up.
Touring part of the research station, Finn marveled at the top of the line gadgets and tools readily available within the labs, as well as state of the art instruments and security stations throughout the station. One must never judge a book by it's cover apparently he thought to himself as he continued on.
Approaching the mess hall, his stomach grumbled, indicating that perhaps he should take a break wandering around, and grab a bite to eat as well as a pint. Walking in, he noticed the minimal staff and the lack of patrons here, save a couple spread out and one familiar-looking scientist sitting in the corner of the room.
Plopping some of the Synth Paste and other edibles provided, he moved his way over to the scientist sitting alone. "Well 'ello there miss Winterton! A pleasure t' finally meet you in person. It's Finn? Finn McCool your.. .well, employer I guess would be ta appropriate description. Anyway, I trust everything is in order and well suited for your needs?"
Glancing up quickly as she was approached, smiling at the slightly funny accent he had, almost immediately recognizing him from the picture's she has been shown before, as well as business over the Neural Net.
"If it isn't Finn himself. Hello there." Slowly moving her feet off the chair opposite to her, almost regretfully, fixing her posture slightly. "Straight to the point, hm? From what I can say so far, things are indeed not too bad. The subject however, is an interesting one. I slightly regret not beginning to work on it earlier, however.. I believe what I was working on before could prove beneficial to this project as well. I'm merely going to continue."
Sighing quietly, taking another bite of her food, glancing sideways at him strangely, as if studying him, himself for a few moments. "So you're the man who decided that moving to 'this' place would be more beneficial. I'm rather impressed." Shrugging to herself, taking another bite.
Her boots thumped down as she walked along the corridor leading to Mess Hall. Her walk was confident, her posture firm and tall, the black overall laying close to her body. She was flicking through her Data-Pad, not even looking up, because all who walked in her path quickly moved aside, they knew not to mess with her.
Emily turned the corner into Mess Hall, stopping by the entrance shortly to scan the room before she tucked the pad under her arm and headed to the counter, getting her food, and a drink. It smelled delicious, the meals here were quite tasty, and she enjoyed eating here. Setting course for her usual booth, which was as always empty, she walked across the room, greeting some of the men and women enjoying their meals.
Quietly she took a seat, sliding the plate and glass over the table, laying the pad next to it, she began going through research while eating.
Wondering why she didn't get a response, she glances up and chuckles quietly. Finn was zoned out alright, even shortly after arriving.
"Quite a bit to think of, hm? Another time then. Don't let me bother you."
Chuckling quietly, she grabs her food and stands up intending to leave him alone as to not bother whatever he was thinking of at the time. Glancing around the room, her eyes fall upon the single woman in a booth nearby. Raising a brow, she manages to catch a glimpse on what was showing of the data-pad that was with her.
Chuckling quietly, she approaches the booth and takes a seat without asking on the other side of her. "Monitoring the air composition while reactions are taking place, but not forgetting to watch the patterns of the actual experiment which effects the core, managing to cross-reference the data to create a predicted response on what would happen if the composition changes.. Impressive, I don't think too many people would think of that after being introduced to a project-change so suddenly."
Raising her gaze to look at the woman infront of her.
"Don't mean to intrude, send me away if you like. I merely cannot resist intelligent conversation, forgive me for not asking to sit beforehand. Well.. Perhaps I lied slightly there, I can only handle so much conversation in general. Bah.. now is not the time for a self-evaluation."
Mumbling the last part to herself, scolding herself about her habit of saying whatever comes to mind when she doesn't monitor her own words.
