You are right. Many corporations do not specialize in mining. However, that only means that the miner has to belong to a mining faction. The miner can sell his ore to anyone, and transports will often visit systems that have mining fields, and request the services of a miner using system chat.
In fact, if the miner has the transport selected, the ore he mines will go directly to the cargo hold of the transport. The transport then pays the miner when he is full.
In this way, every shipping company can participate in selling ore. It is limited only by 1) house laws, and 2) the relationship between you and the miner (based on your faction and his).
In my perspective current mining prices are there to promote one of the established "multi-player" interactions in Disco. I see it as the only reason why ore prices overlap the rest of the market logic.

Hello @ dev team . Happy New Year @ all ! I has think about this idea and has talking with people who still active on Disco about this . Maybe need edit this idea a bit , use , for example , not only Ore Processing , maybe Commodity Processing also . Means from 2 or 3 types of commodity make final more expensive product on PoB . As i know jump trading is limited 3,6k finally , barge will be removed soon . The economy was seriously changed . PoBs before this changes mainly was used for collect Ore and for production cloak device for military , and jump / survey devices mainly for jump ( barge ) trading ( i know this very good , coz on 3 years only ones people ask me to move military fleet via jump ) . And for what need PoBs now ? Only for building cloak device on this logic . Coz if no barge jump trading , why need collect Ore ? I don't see reazon for this now . And in game a lot of PoBs now unused really on it . Also , commodity usually used only by new players , who don't know yet about mining system on Disco mod , and for upgrade PoBs . It is bored , in fact , people trading only Ore all the time . Maybe time to change this too ?
