Like, I know there have been flame threads in the past comparing some of the game mechanics from EVE to disco, but I'm not interested in that sort of thing so don't be doing that here.
Someone please explain to me what it is and how one would play it, because it looks cool but the combat look like polished dirt. Someone give me a run-down in Freelancer terms pls.
Select target
Tell ship to orbit target
Turn guns on
Sit there and let math play out
???

Now obviously there's more to it than that, but you get the basic idea: Instead of flying a ship around with WSAD, you basically tell your ship where to go using targets and waypoints, tell it what to shoot at, give commands to your drones, etc. It's all done by math and ui commands, it's not a 'shooter'.
A space sim and a bloody good one at that.
However, as already stated above, it is not a shooter.
A different genre and there are people who like it and people who don't.
Try it, but as someone who has started and stopped playing 4 times now, get a friend or two. It is boring to fly alone.

PSA: If you have been having stutter/FPS lag on Disco where it does not run as smoothly as other games, please look at the fix here: https://discoverygc.com/forums/showthrea...pid2306502

As a current active member of EVE, it is indeed Sindroms and the others put it. Its an advanced space multiplayer game. It has many many many features to it including odd style of combat, mining, item and ship building, planetary base building and station building (both with take forever mind you) as well as other things as well.
Easily put, EVE is for those space gaming nerds that have a lot of free time to play it because if you don't have time to spare then your also in luck because training skills in it takes time
example is a level 5 mining (highest) which takes 1 day and 15 hours to train if I remember correctly
