It is sad that when it comes to brainstorming the possible future developments of Gallia so many are eager to throw their ideas in, but when it comes to making something we all can agree on (e.g. Gallia should start to lose here or there already) real, then there are far fewer to join in at that. Like you, Laddie, are atalking about a Gallic Civil war, something which is actually happening since years iRL since decades inRP, yet I still can't see you applying to Council, doing your own indie stuff at moving the story forward, creating your own Maquis faction, or whatever else besides talking about the subject. And you are not the only one, a lot of folks just talk and when it comes to doing stuff, they all go back to their #DeleteGallia bullcrap, or just a simple "meh".
The plans to end the stagnancy of the Gallic storyline are done, what I need of you is to help me make it happen, because that can't be done without activity.

That, or in a year Sirius will be New Gallia. I don't advise that unless we want a mass migration out of sirius (and we know that means).
Splinter Gallia like the roman empire after its fall. Open it up to Sirian Colonization! Then people will actually go there! Groups like the Maquis, Council, UC, start claiming systems, and perhaps finally start squabbling among themselves for territory.
Well, it's hard to really determine what "winning the conventional war" actually means. They've managed to take some systems, sure, but not necessarily capitalize on gaining the large amount of resources they need to maintain their war machine. Leeds certainly has to be draining and demoralizing them to an extent (I think of Leeds as the Stalingrad of the war).
I couldn't imagine it would be too long a time before some officers in the GRN would begin questioning their loyalty to King Charles, and may even see more of a shift towards the Council, which would pave the way for more of an Gallic Civil war focus and relieve the pressure off Sirius. I think your Roman Empire analogy is a good one in that respect, although, I could easily see the Council re-absorbing the Maquis movement if there managed to be a sizeable break up of the Kingdom of Gallia, since they would have no real reason to oppose one-another.
I can't disagree with any of that, I'd like to see it go that way too, but I find it hard to balance it with the inrp fact that, IMO anyways, Gallia seems to be winning the capital fleet engagements more than anyone else. That combined with Liberty fighting a war on two fronts, since their conflict with Rheinland is still quite active, they haven't been able to have the impact many seemed to hope they would by this stage. If things were all based by what happens inrp, Magellan would long since be lost, and so would Texas for that matter. If I'm wrong I have no problem with that, just show me some battles that Rheinland and Gallia haven't cleaned house.
That's why I suggest a doomsday weapon, WWII style, end the war fast, make a bunch of changes, and roll with whole new Sirius-Gallia arrangement for a couple years. Not to mention a new cold war, with every house developing these 'doomsday weapons'. Something really game changing, like a death star (but obviously not a death star) or planet killer/ star killer...
...aanndd then a big vortex opens above Manhattan with a Nomad fleet and destroys half the system. the rest writes itself!

Well, unfortunately I don't have the time to divide myself up between that many factions at the moment, not to mention that most of the activity I would like to be involved in happens when I am at work (curse you active Europeans and your 5+ hours ahead!!), but I would like to get a bit more involved, particularly either with Maquis or Council.
Also..yes I do realize the "civil war" in Gallia has been raging inRP for decades, but one has to wonder as to the actual effectiveness of it if the GRN has managed to both keep the Council at bay AND invade and subjugate Kusari and knock on Bretonia's front door. Obviously there needs to be more done to have an actual impact on the war.
Also also...I've never advocated for #deleteGallia... just #shrinkGallia.
When can Bretonia be Buffed a bit . Every criminal goes there. The military is non-exsistant. No player wants to join the bretonia factions. When can Leeds be returned to Bretonia. Every time I venture into bretonia there is a lot of pirates and galic capital ships ready to hunt for liberty and bretonia ships.
