Only in as much as exploration/colonisation is a thing. But the same could be said of Sins of a Solar Empire, for example - although that game is literally nothing like Europa Universalis.

Also, there's a slowly growing group of people who are able to play, and myself and Rod are definitely looking for decent folks to build empires with or against. Unfortunately, if any of you intended on buying this game, you literally just missed out on it being on sale on humble bundle.
All titles including the EU IV collection are available at a rather hefty discount. I picked up the EU IV DLC and bought the Victoria collection. Feel free to check it out.
And zelot, while the response may be far too delayed to be of any use...don't worry, I barely understand trade apart from the fact that it happens. The golden rule is apparently to own an end-node like Antwerpen and try to put trade power in all the nodes (via trade fleets or provinces) that lead to Antwerpen, where you can collect.
