Please share your opinions regarding the best features of Discovery and Freelancer itself, I need those for better understanding of FL nature and charm. EDIT: I am speaking about game mechanics and game features, not about server-side and community-based features.
Roleplay interactions.
Discovering some stuff you didnt know before that was in the game.
Fighting mechanitcs in the game and the range of ships.
The complexity of the commodity system and how you can create your own route.
Roleplay possibilites.
As for me it is overall beauty. You fly from Omegas to, let's say, NY, turn back and see whole Walker nebula, and think "I have been right there, and now I see it from such a distance". Ships, while being absolutely mechanically-inaccurate they give a pleasure to eye. Ability to fly somewhere and get lost in distant system. FL soundtracks. ID cards you can read while n travel.
The Roleplay in this game makes it my favorite one at the given time, believe it or not.
I haven't found this much enjoyment from any game I played before.
The level of detail that's put in the descriptions of all stations/planets/ships/commodities also gives you something to read while flying from point A to point B.
And the community. The Community here is probably one of the main reasons my English is this good, and is most certainly the reason why this game is my favorite one. Because of the Roleplay. Every single staff member deserves a humongous Kudos for making this game what it is now with his/her contribution.
I was there, but it does not make me know what exactly you liked about it.
4.85 is outdated compared to 4.87 (or we are at .88 already?) in terms of overall mod completion. Sure thing I am speaking about game mechanics but not about activity.
Actually, initially, I wanted to get opinions regarding the game and the mod, but not about RP, attitude and activity.
