and just becasue you want to "stop smuggling" doesnt make it the right to move that base.
so smuggling is bad for the game that the devs have to move it?
Edit: im am referring to the OP
I don't belive that want to destroy your faction, that would be stupid because if there is no smugglers there will be not roll play. He want to have more space to stop some of the smugglers. Not to only watch them passing by because they can.
I'd rather that they moved CR and IMG out of Coronado. They should never have been there in the first place.
Originally when it happened, CR didn't claim Coronado, but of course over time that's what it turns into, sadly.
CR is an import faction, an inactive one at that, and in situations where CR stuff collides with older stuff, CR has got to make way if you ask me. It's one of the least important factions in the mod, seeing that it's made of imported material.

When a colonial think on what can be done there is the question if it would matter if the Devs chose to move us again. Or why we keep fighting in the Taus if we will never take back Tau-44, and even if we do it would bring even more inRP problems because we can't control two systems so apart. Move the CR again just like that will only bring more problems.
For the record, I don't want to complain about that change. It was done long before I even knew about Disco and is too easy to criticize it when everyone who is fighting Galia wants someone who cause trouble in the Taus.
Thats not correct, the old CR HC had a discussion with Devs about it and the movement to Coronado was chosen in order for the faction to keep some degree of logic to its RP. As Alley said, the CR was sourrunded by enemies up there and there was no chance it could have stopped or even survived the Gallic attack on Tau 44 if it hadnt left the system.
Coronado was the only really logical decision back then, that didnt involve creating a new system, or moving to something even further away from everything, so thats why it was chosen.
Moving Barrier isnt really a good idea, the base serves its purpose where it is (I can understand the annyance it causes when you try to RP and they just move on though), what I'd suggest you is to change your tactics to hunt for smugglers. If you know that they have good chances to escape at the place you try to stop them, then stop them elsewhere (thats why the way you have the CR structured right now isnt too efficient)
You could put that nomadic fleet concept where the BS Nagasaki currently is, giving the CR back it's role of being one of the major barrioers of Gallic control of the Taus. Meanwhile, you could sneak the Nagasaki via the Tau jumpholes to Tottori or Kyushu, changing some of the Exiles dynamics too in the process, from another unreliable partner against the Gallic Navy, to a Kusari threat in the west of the house proper.
If I wanted to rant about miners quickdocking on Java/Graves and some other stations near to the mining fields, I could go on for all day long. The same goes to smugglers. Change the way you hunt down smugglers then, instead of solo camping Coronado.
I'm okay with the Barrier Gate at the place it is.
If we speak of the roleplay reasons, if someone wanted to destroy the base or tried to drive out inhabitants (say, like CR would like to do that), a lot of Freelancers would appear around the base and massacre every possible vessel that wanted to kill or threats the station. Not that also a lot of pirates and other mercenaries would show up as well, as the station and the Baffin-Coronado highway is crucial to them.
Think of it like Wild West problem, where some settlers want to be independent but will fight for their ground. Ironically, the system is called Coronado after all.
Not that its the Colonials who came there uninvited long after Barrier Gate Station was settled in Coronado. Sorry Colonials, technically you are the guests, not hosts on this one.

+1 to what Mímir said.
Besides, speaking from purely in-game activity oorp standpoint, it'd be in CR's interest to have more smugglers in their turf, not less. Dunno why would CR want to limit their activity source.
