Quote:1.7 Metagaming* and/or powergaming** to gain a roleplay benefit for factions, groups or individuals*
Consequences:
Dont use the player list to avoid player interaction, if you dont want it, go and play a single player game, on this server its a bad thing to do.
I do understand the need to do this, however, if you have to do it, to get your tradeship save through hostile space, then dont rub it under other players nose. Thats what got you sanctioned here.
If you post in this sanction and are not directly involved or a leader of the accused person's faction be advised that you are consenting to be subjected to the reprisal of my choice which may involve in game repercussions up to a ban. Blaming members of your immediate family, neighbours, friends, pets, and assorted Orcs, Trolls and any other legendary creatures may result in the use of Admin Right #CTE 750AE
This sounds interesting. Everybody uses the player list, both sides do - hunters, pirates - traders. Eisenstein is a trade ship, I know. So I am interested how a trader can be sanctioned for meta.
Seen the evidence.
Thank you for providing it fast.
Comment: I find it ironic.
KM| is also Kruger| players and "Obsession" (Maquis ID, logging for IMG in Taus. They metagame my soft targets regularly by logging to KM| or indie unlawfuls wherever possible. E.g. when we enter Honshu on our way to S13, the KM| gunboats are logged. When in Taus, "Obsession" appears "magically".
I understand why admins cannot ignore the green message that my guy sent. That was not clever.
As the sanction punishment is practically negligible, I'll not push it further than the following message: "You got the wrong guy.".
The trader normally is not the one who is metagaming, but the one countering metagaming. And the report was done by a butthurt pirate player who logged especially for a tagged trade ship to catch it in S13. If you check the loging time, you'll see that he came on shortly before the IMG entered S13, I bet.
As IMG| leader, I know how these things work.
No actions will be taken but one: I'll tell my people not to green-message talk any more to people who want are collecting evidence for malicious actions (also confirmed in green message).
Greetings,
I`m the captain of the Eisenstein.
First let me say this: Yes i`m using the player list to sort out potentuall dangerous playernames on my trades.
This includes junker Maurauders, indie pirates and these KM guys too, off cause.
Second, i have never been sanctioned for anything as long as i played on this server.
I was a indie Bowex trader, Mercenary, miner etc.
I had never any problems with anybody i encounter, pirate, trader or otherwhise.
But let me be very clear,
sometimes i`m not in the mood to get harrassed by players who loves nothing more than to annoy me or any other IMG tagged ships.
Yes i avoid this KM guy by looking at the player list BUT i guess he did the same to find out where i was going and set up his trap to harrass me with whatever he wants to do.
So i take the Jumphole from Frankfurt to Sigma 13 to avoid him and yes i told him exactly this but first in RP.
But also the KM guy started this greenchat not me.
And as i know from other people in skype he was raging in there skypechat.
So this is basicly some kind of ragesanction because he doesnt get what he wanted.
I accept this Sanction and i wont get involved into this kind of chat again.
But i wont stop using the Playerlist to sort out potentual dangerous Players as the other side (pirates) do the same to set up there traps.
I`m not a raging guy and people like my accompany on convoys or in other Rollplay in Space.
Well, thats all from my side.

Everyone will tell you small lies, except the people you love, who will tell you large ones.

Maya,
You hit the nail on the head there. Any trader, hauler, miner...anyone that does any business or scouting, uses the chat window to metagame. Everyone has access to this, so it's not cheating. If not everyone had this resource it would be unfair, but it's not.
This sanction screams of over-reffing the game. Ever see a hockey game or soccer match where the referee calls everything remotely looking like a penalty? What does it do to the flow of the game?
Example of a non-sanction: Two days ago I RPed (loose meaning of the word) a situation with a random Bretonian pirate fighter, a Zoner Star battleship, and my DHC transport. I was under contract from Star to transport reinforced alloy to Omega 9, and this pirate accosted me in front of the Star base. Star-Protector did not have time to give me the docking code before this guy, spouting some gibberish about "helping Gallians", torpedoes me with little warning. 5mil or die, right on a POB, with a battleship watching him from 50m away. He killed me anyway. And the BS just let him go, even though he was protecting me, a contractor.
Tl;Dr just stop refereeing the game so much, admins. Sanction only when gross violations are witnessed and documented. These bull$#!) reasons are what is killing the game. Traders like Maya and I expect the occasional loss during flight. This whole "metagaming is unfair" just reeks. Shut it down, or more players will just quit in frustration. Like me and Maya.
