Heck, I guess a TAZ extremist faction would be most plausible.
I suppose you could call TAZ 'Extremist' (we do shoot people who defame Eris in Baffin, or just dont listen to us, or a lot of other reasons) but our "extremism" is unconventional and hard to explain, not like the "extremism" people tend to think of.
Probably why TAZ and Crimson Cross get along so well

I do not think it a wise move to play a harrassing and trolling character and then try and argue that it´s all in RP, it takes too much time from the Admins and probably does not really bring good RP or more activity to the server.
Religious extremists, like that Xeno guy? I guess if it's played for laughs, it's feasible.
However if it is a group that whose main activity is forceful spreading of a religion (fictional or not), and goes to great lenghts to annoy the heck out of people, believers or non believers, potentially harassing and offending other people, then it's better to keep that idea in the scrapbook and not bring it to the set.
My character, Hidetaka Kojima is a religious extremist, but in a way different style. He believes he was chosen by the Heavens that said Kusari is corrupted by a cancer and he must purtify every possible threats (this is, Gallics and KNF traitors) to the long-living Kusari traditions and survival. He doesn't really care if the government will be Imperial or Shogunate, as far as it won't be influenced by third parties.
If you were looking for the real life comparison here, think about Yellow Turban Rebellion (2nd Century in China) and short-lived Taoist Sect led by Zhang Jiao.
Indeed the timing is not good. Nevertheless, it clearly depends on what you have in mind. If you choose to play something violent, then it becomes risky because it could be misunderstood by other players. Remember, people on disco don't really know each others and there are a lot of very different people here. This means you will have to explain carefully the background of the faction. Additionally, as a preventive action, you should probably justify why you want to play such faction and clarify that you do not endorse such behaviour in real life.
In summary, it might be risky and if you do, you will probably have to provide a lot of rp and oorp explanation. Actually, it would be easy to do with friends around a table but I am not sure it's feasible on disco.

All Hail Eris! All Hail Discordia! Prosecutors will be Transgressicuted!
Lyth: I've toyed with the idea of reviving the original Discordian Lane Hacker Faction, ELF (Erisian Liberation Front). They'd be violent/direct action where TAZ are schemers/pacifists. I even set up a bomber already.
One of my main characters is a fanatic-self-claimed-inquisitor,
fighting with all the evil in the space (mostly pirate-forces).
