How acceptable is it to roleplay a Nomad as a Non-nomad ID? For example an infested Freelancer? Nomad ID can't leave omicrons and The Wild is a closed faction. I believe nomad roleplay is interesting and as 'Freelancer ID' one would not powergame. It's only pure RP.
What do you think?
When you leave the ID, it all turns into a matter if people accept the RP or not.
Sticking close to the lore put out already on how people like that operate, the chances are higher that people will recognize you as an infected person.
Follow the lore and don't make up your own. MAYBE it might work. I wouldn't say it's impossible.
Depends.
Can end up being pretty good, even as far as going SRP (Personal experience) and might be very bad.

That was the best sarcasm I've read on here.
(But on the other hand, idea is good, yet it should require some restrictions, if it was open, like "- Can attack every vessel (including transports) only in non-House (bold) systems.")
Back to the topic, yes, you can do that but you CAN'T engage first to not to break rules. You can RP as a Infectee on any ID you desire, but you need to be careful, not being like "I AM NOMAD, ***(feels)***". Be gentle, be silent. Do it slowly, step by step.
First of all, you may preferably pick Intel IDs for that purpose. Can't say why, but they are most likely to be infected. Same with The Order and Core ID. It would also work with Zoner ID, since Zoners are, well, everywhere.
Thanks for the answers. Of course I'd do it slow and nice. And NOT break ID rules at any time! My goal is not: I AM NOMAD! ENGAGING! My goal is purely RP.

I honestly don't understand why 90% of intelligence characters I encounter are infected. I mean, part of their job is actively containing Nomad threats in their respective Houses. Scanning/testing seems to be RPed as relatively easy/non-invasive to do these days, and anyone who runs a risk of regular contact should be tested after every single sortie they fly. That's just common sense.
I mean the pilot would have to encounter a Nomad, go AWOL for a week or so while the incubus matured and then be welcomed back into their organisation without arousing suspicion. For that to succeed, you'd need everyone at base be like, "yeah, that seems legit. The Nomad probably sneezed on him and gave him flu." You'd test them when they got back, then incinerate/airlock anyone who fails. Intelligence organisations are some of the most paranoid things in existence. It just doesn't check out.
Either the Houses are some of the most goddamn incompetent organisations known to humanity since we first crawled from the swamps, or an awful lot of people haven't been thinking things through much. Honestly, Freelancers and pirates are the best infiltration vectors in my opinion. They usually work alone, so few people would notice a sudden shift in personality. They work outside organisations, so there's no-one that will try to force them to be tested unless they get caught out.
You can RP whatever you want. Just follow the ID's restriction and do not break it, so nothing will happen.

It will never happen.
Since the ID itself. Almost all tech calls are opened and the line "Can engage anyone everywhere"
So If anyone will open this ID it will be a mess.
