ok i just started Launcher and it updates and then plays a ST Bridge Commander add
only did it just after the update ie does not happen on subsequent restarts (yet)
so what has happened
is it safe
(edit) that PC does nothing but play disco so no other route to the ad
i managed to locate the file that had been played on my DVD drive title
bridge commander_final.bik
i didnt know that it existed till this as it was tucked away in a folder
the disc it is on is genuine so not the cause
file has never been played befor and this has never happened under any conditions till now
folder wasnt open so no accidental click
full list of files that were attempted to be payed in VLC
all on D:
setup/movies/bridge commander_final.bik
demo32.exe
bin/autorun.exe
autorun.inf
sta2.dbd
setup.exe
setup/texture.dat
setup/setup.lid
setup/setup.ins
setup/os.dat
cant say i do as it happened immediately after DSLauncher completed downloading update.
sure the game seems to run ok and it doesnt seem to be continuing with that behaviour
but that was clearly the trigger and im wondering what it will do next update
have to say im concerned that it should have done all that
This is something that you have mounted on your drive. It has no relation to Discovery. Also, if you are going to be a criminal and illegaly obtain software, at least have the courticy to disable autorun. It will save you some headaches.

PSA: If you have been having stutter/FPS lag on Disco where it does not run as smoothly as other games, please look at the fix here: https://discoverygc.com/forums/showthrea...pid2306502

@Sindromes
you are way off the mark, nice try at flaming tho
as already stated on the shoutbox earlier the disc in question is genuine
and autorun isnt on, and wouldn't run those files if it was
and no way on earth would they be trying to run on VLC
Some how i think it is the causal factor though. no viruses etc. i ran serveral scans using different products. no malware found, and i dont use that machine for anything other than disco (up to this point) i dont browse on it to have picked one up. i use a seperate pc for that and run a live Ubuntu distro if im intending to do anything i feel may be risky. also the only error reports from this are that VLC could not play the files after the first one.
?
(im not suggesting this is malicious btw)
edit: the earlier update went fine and nothing had changed since then
