So today I have been wondering - the Junker ID has a pretty clear set of rules, but would Junkers really stand idly by while they see Freelancers carrying captured Junkers?
Pilot carrying this quasi-lawful ID is a member of the Junkers, who:
- Can attack any ships in self-defense, to protect another Junker ship, or in defense of a Junker base.
- Can demand cargo and credits from ships outside of Rheinland, Liberty and Bretonian house space, and attack them if they do not comply.
- Can attack Xenos and Hogosha anywhere.
- Cannot use any transport with more than 4,300 cargo.
The defense of Junker bases and ships is fairly obvious and applies to all players, but wouldn't it be far more realistic for Junkers to actually try and free their brethren? In my understanding of Junker RP any Junker would ask Freelancers to drop their brothers or CONVINCE Freelancers to drop them by force if necessary.
I do not intend this to be a justification to attack random players, but effectively ships carrying Junkers HAVE attacked them at some point and are obviously not friends of them - who would let his family members get kidnapped and not do anything about it?
I asked an [Angel] about it from an RP perspective, but just got the answer of the ID. Does anybody else feel as I do?
P.S.: The LSF, Navy and LPI may do so - sure, they are the lawful representatives in Liberty space, but why would the other factions simply ignore their own being held captive?
being a Junker It doesn't matter who's flaunting them, i want them off the ship, simple as.
Or any other captive for that matter if i get my way, straight in the back of the Pilgrim mate.
some answers or questions.
1st. do they scan your cargo hold?
2nd location. ask a trader to drop (parts of) his cargo is a kind of piracy (if the junker doesnt ask very carefully). junkers are not allowed to do that within rheinland, liberty and bretonia.
3rd. are you sure, the junkers in the cargo hold are there in case of an attack of the transporting player? e.g they can be the victims of an npc fight (xenos vs. junkers - junkers lost) and the freelancer tractored them.

1) Who are "they"? Not sure what you mean, so I cannot answer that.
2) I am aware of the rules. Ofcourse Junkers don't pirate. They have a way with words...but captured Junkers are human beings, victims of a fight, not cargo (if you get what I'm saying...)
3) Well, if the Freelancer "saved" them from that fight he wouldn't mind handing them over to their family, yes? If he holds them when asked to hand them over he'd effectively be keeping them captive.
I hardly think liberating your kin's an act of piracy if these people are being flaunted around the place.
If they've done wrong, have them locked up, not paraded around like animals in a cage. I mean,
these houses are righteous and have morals aye?
I wouldn't really call it piracy. It's a tricky line, but I'd say demanding their release would be legitimate enough roleplay.
This should really apply in most instances. The junkers in particular, considering their attitude of looking out for their own, but I wouldn't think most factions would approve of their members being taken captive, either.

except in lore they treat other junkers like kin/brothers.
I think i'll RP my way, if anybody bothers to report me I'll make my case with the admin that whacks me (unless one of them makes a statement here that is).
I think my RP would absolutely justify it, since its not about cargo or cash, but freeing junker brethren. And I shouldn't be known to be a PvP-hoor...
