Rose Dragons Recruitment Form 薔薇龍 | Long Live the Blood Dragons
Name: Higashi Jin
Gender: Male
Age & D.O.B: 28, 07.07.800 A.S
Place of Birth: Kyoto Base, Chugoku System
Previous Occupation(s): Raider pilot.
What reasoning has brought you to the Dragons? I've been born into it.
Your training will be rigorous and intensive. Do you agree to commit to this? I do not expect you to go easy on me.
Autobiography: I've spent most of my time on Hikone in Honshu, after I left from Kyoto. Kyoto has been my home for the first half of my life or rather until I turned 23. My father would take me on his raids in Honshu, well rather frequently and depending on the threat level. While I've spent my childhood in the simulators and being homeschooled by a family friend I've been eager to join my father on a raid someday. The day would come faster than I could imagine and I found myself behind the steering controls of my very own "Katana" Heavy Fighter craft. We were attacking Yukawa in Honshu, this was also the first time I'd killed someone. It felt weird to kill somebody although these Samura security wings are our arch enemies and would show no remorse in killing any Blood Dragon they find. I talked to my father about that matter when we returned to Hikone. He told me to remember why we were doing this and that I shouldn't worry about how I felt after the raid since he experienced the same when he was my age. While the others were celebrating the victory and the stolen property of Samura I was in my room going through the entire raid over and over again. I still think about my very first raid and my very first kill after all these years. Being the last surviving member of my squadron and seeing my father retiring from his duties as squadron leader I've decided to look for new opportunities to join a new Blood Dragon group and share my combat experience.
Bushido Code Agreement
As a samurai serving in the ranks of the Dragons, you are expected to uphold the code of Bushido, an immemorial custom of Kusarian culture. If you are a Kusari native, you know this code by heart, and need not think twice about agreeing. Apart from the mastery of many forms of weaponry and warfare, from martial to dogfight, you must harbor the following teachings in your path as a samurai:
The core of a samurai's honor is composed of these traits. By agreeing to this, you promise to commit to these teachings on and off of the battlefield. Failure to exhibit these lessons of life is dishonorable and may result in demotion, exile, or ordered 切腹 (seppuku).
Do you agree to the consequences of your actions?
Yes.

Akai-san.
Your passion and your dedication are admirable traits. But let's be honest here. This isn't just about having a line that ties back to our ancestors. Blood doesn't guarantee you'll realize the truth. You have learned everything we have to teach you, but are you ready to finally take action? Are you prepared to die for what you believe is right? This is a journey of which you will be unable to return from, whether your path ends in glorious death or superior victory. If you understand, you are welcomed into our ranks as a 錦鯉 (Nishikigoi) and you will be provided with proper identifications, up to date armaments, and your vessel will be brought to current standards. Report to Nijo tower on Kyoto at your earliest convenience so you may be briefed on your first mission.
Higashi-san.
I am glad to see that you bring considerable experience as a raider on vital Samura infrastructure to the table. Your father is correct. Every dragon that sets out beyond the darkness of Chugoku with hopeful gazes understands and knows the feeling of taking another's life well. Especially the life of a fellow Kusarian. The matter is tough to deal with at first, but the fledgelings grow to realize that if they let their guard down, our enemies would do the same to them in a heartbeat. Just as you did. Everyone who grows wings accepts the risks, and learns not to get too close to their wingmen, lest their emotions cloud their judgment. But I digress. With your raiding expertise, we will accept your application and grant you the role of 錦鯉 (Nishikigoi). You are to report to Nijo tower on Kyoto immediately for distribution of identification, weaponry, and initial briefing of your assigned tasks.

What reasoning has brought you to the Dragons? My parents were both Blood Dragon raiders.
Your training will be rigorous and intensive. Do you agree to commit to this? I'm ready for it.
Autobiography: I was born in a family of pilots, so my dad taught me how to fly at a very young age. When I turned 18, he took me to my first raid.
For a few years we were intercepting Samura convoys to bring back supplies to Kyoto. This continued for a few years, until my father passed away. There are not many places and people I can turn to, so I want to go a step further from being a regular raider, and work to bring back the rightful Shogun to the throne.

Rose Dragons Recruitment Form 薔薇龍 | Long Live the Blood Dragons
Name: Suzuki, Hitomi
Gender: Female
Age & D.O.B: 18/06/799
Place of Birth: Planet Manhattan, New York System
Previous Occupation(s): Kusari Naval Forces
What reasoning has brought you to the Dragons? Corporations across the colonies have rigged the system against your average citizen. This game is twisted and needs to be reset, by means of wiping slate clean if needs be.
Your training will be rigorous and intensive. Do you agree to commit to this? I would not be here otherwise.
Autobiography: I was born in Liberty to an impoverished family. From a young age I had to learn how to get by with whatever jobs we could get in the shadow of Manhattan’s capital city’s spires. I brushed myself by petty thievery, organised (and not so organised) crime syndicates, ‘grey economy’, cardamine and black market. I left on my first opportunity, first to Denver which I used as a step towards emigrating to Shikoku. Things were not all that rosy over here either but what could I have known then?
The only way to lift myself out of perpetual destitution was enlisting into the Kusari Naval Forces in 823 AS. Kusari Exiles had emerged in Tau-29 and Blood Dragons had begun their campaign in Tottori and it sent the Republic into rightful panic. At the time of war, they recruited just about anyone who could be hammered fast and efficiently into a soldier and loosened a lot of restrictions and screening processes which allowed me to effectively hide my cardamine habits from both other recruits and my superiors. The Navy gave me invaluable training that I sought to use after my tour of duty to my own ends. By 824 AS I was flying under the Republic’s banner as the first class of rushed soldiers.
To be entirely honest I couldn't care less whether it was the Republic that was only interested in me as a ‘replacements’ or the Empire that long has outlived its purpose. It seems I showed promise despite my uncariness for the regime and was elevated to the rank of Santo Kaisa - or Lieutenant Commander as English is my native tongue. I had once again undergone a crash course to bring me up to speed, this time on subjects of warship operations and command. Gunboat “Iwanai” was my first real taste of command. I have grown weary of war that I felt did not concern me but was refused discharge on the basis of emergency powers related to military conscription. Perhaps some may consider it shameful but I considered and planned my defection before I would be rotated back to the frontlines. I took the opportunity to “chase” after the first pirate I saw, intentionally earning myself missing in action status in the lists.
Border Worlds were a mixed bag and I could not stay in there for long. My ship without adequate maintenance deteriorated over time among explosive gas pockets and hydrogen thick nebulae in Sigma sector. It was cheaper to obtain cardamine with the local smuggling ring and both Guildsmen and Zoners were easygoing enough to point me towards work and a place I could call home. This is how I found The Order, although I did not join in an official capacity, they accepted me as a ‘dissident’ and permitted my continued residence on Akabat under one condition: I could pull my weight and work. This is where I eventually encountered Blood Dragon Shogun who happened to drink at a local bar run by and for Kusari expats, some of whom were Blood Dragons.

Yasukawa-san.
Well... There isn't too much to look at here. Not that I am complaining. As a basic raider, you have little background to speak of. It is a shame that your father passed, but it is also a blessing that you have deigned it necessary to bear the torch and fight to live in the light once more. So that our next generation no longer has to fear the pains of having to crane their neck, just to be certain that there isn't somebody right behind them, about to take their life. Our instincts and our skills have allowed the Dragons to survive for generations. And they will carry us on, until we have nothing left to oppose us... My apologies. I felt a little inspired. You are hereby accepted into our ranks, 錦鯉 (Nishikigoi). Make your way to Nijo Tower at your earliest convenience to receive your identifications, branded equipment, and up to date ships. With enough time and dedication, you will be ready to bring death to our enemies.
Suzuki-san.
I must say, your submission has piqued my curiosity. You truly are an outlier. From nothing in Liberty, you crawled our way out of the gutter with crimes. Our honorable Shogun has told me about what she's learned of that nation and the way she painted its outlook was not very appetizing. I can see these opportunities being your only reliable way to get by. Your tale of becoming a soldier to avert poverty is in line with the first Kusari-Gallia war, and the failed Republic's attempts to quell both us, and the Exiles. They were desperate and took in folks like you rapidly in an effort to replenish their forces. You cleverly evaded your service by requirement and fled to the border worlds, but not many last long out there without the funds to maintain their own ship. So through sheer luck, you fought, stole, and dealt your way to us. It isn't our place to judge you for your past crimes, but your cardamine reliance may be hard to accept for some. Myself included. But, the Shogun has vouched for you, and informs us that you've promised to keep the poison to yourself. If you hold yourself to that promise, I allow you the rank of 錦鯉 (Nishikigoi) with the blessing of the Shogun. Please come to Nijo Tower so you can be given your official gear and ships, as well as your first assignments.

Name: Yoshida Seika
Gender: Female
Age & D.O.B: 20 | July 5, 808 AS
Place of Birth: Planet Kyushu, Kyushu
Previous Occupation(s): Rice Farmer
What reasoning has brought you to the Dragons? Even after all of the bloodshed and death in Kusari's recent history, it continues to be controlled by the likes of Samura and the Hogosha. I've had enough of standing in the sidelines. Something has to be done.
Your training will be rigorous and intensive. Do you agree to commit to this? Yes.
Autobiography: I was born and raised on my family's rice farm on Planet Kyushu. It was a good environment to grow up in- my parents are kind and understanding, and I learned much about farm work there. I also grew up with stories of Kusari's ancient past, and fiction depicting people fighting against corruption in society.
In 823 AS, our farm was incinerated in the crossfire of a battle taking place overhead, and though all of us escaped with our lives, our livelihood was destroyed.
Fortunately for my parents, they were able to continue their work on a farm owned by a family friend... but I was no longer satisfied.
Even after that civil war, Kusari has not improved. Still, Samura holds far too much sway over her politics, just as it takes far too many of my parents' hard-earned credits.
With Kusari's laws as they are, there are no options for effective peaceful protest. I do not believe there is a better way- and so, I have come to you, as soon as I became able.
I may have relatively little experience as a pilot, but I intend to commit fully to my training.

Are you okay with dynamic roleplay consequences? This faction aims to provide an interesting rank up experience. Yes! It sounds quite fun, actually.
How long have you been playing, and have you ever broken the rules of Discovery, resulting in sanction or other punishment? A little over three weeks, but I did play for a short time back when Gallia was new. So far, I may have accidentally broken a rule or two, but I'm learning and it hasn't resulted in any punishment.
What is your timezone/nationality? UTC-5/North American (will most likely change to UTC-7 some time in April of 2023)
We would like to be a newbie friendly faction, but for curiosity, how would you rate your PVP/RP skills? PVP: 3/10, RP: 6/10. I have little PvP skill at the moment, though I am learning. I understand the basics of engine kill, mine trapping and turret steer. I have over three years of one-on-one RP experience, but I'm still relatively new to roleplaying in a game.

Yoshida-san.
Your life for a credit. Your occupation, worth a a 'dime a dozen', as they say in Liberty. This is what Samura values you as. As they value all commoners like yourself. Like your family. To them, your folk are as expendable little ants slaving away. Ants that cost very little to replace, yet inevitably give Samura veritable fortunes of wealth. Every single credit from Kusari, every single transaction of the waxing era of Kusari can inevitably be traced to Samura. Their laundering is flawless. It makes it incredibly easy to get away with such shameless penny pinching when your kind pay your bills to the order of subtle shell companies and other schemes. Your taxes go straight to lining their pockets. And you? You are as common as they come. A lowly farmer's daughter who dares to rage against the machine. Helpless prey that deigns to turn the tables against their predator. You are worthless. If my words drew out the anger within you, then you will find the strength to mold that worthlessness into worthiness, and forge the path to a better Kusari, 錦鯉 (Nishikigoi). Because there is conviction within you, kid, and you need only train your body and soul to bring it forth. Report to the tower immediately to receive access codes to your personal armaments, including but not limited to your ships and your gear. Be ready for your first assignment.

What reasoning has brought you to the Dragons? During my work as a museum curator I discovered several historical pieces that were being kept hidden, detailing the coup from several centuries ago. The content convinced me that the current government was established unlawfully and the attempt to hide the true events of what happened then proves the current government is just as bad. The Blood Dragons goal to right this wrong is one I have come to see as noble.
