Drake nodded a little and confidently moved towards Kusarian women. He recognized there was Blood Dragon's shogun, Ukubata Tsuya, and silently bowed to salute her. Then he looked at another woman and said:
- My apologies for interrupting your talk, are you Aiko Tekagi? My name is Miles Drake, I was sent here to...let's just say, keep you company while you are here, on Akabat. Nothing out of the ordinary, just so no one can harm you. Do you mind if I join you?
Miles' glance was sharp, but also kind and amusing. He stood in anticipation and looked with clear blue eyes, but women might feel his eyes had turned light green for a second. However, it was just a feeling.
Tekagi's curiosity about the man approaching caused her to turn her head and finally acknowledge his presence. She'd never seen him before, but recognized him as an Order agent. She bowed to him in return while she sat, and responded to his words with a slight quip. "The way she's going, she'll drink herself into an ethylic coma before anyone even has a chance to lay a finger on her, Mr. Drake. I was simply discussing matters of our country with her. Seeing as she's a person of importance and currently a resident of Akihabara, If I weren't here first, she'd probably be passed out before you got here."
She returns her attention to the conversation beforehand. "I get your reasoning for not wanting to stay with the Dragons forever. You are skeptical and used to the propaganda that the Empire churns out on a daily basis. I'm sure you'll learn about how our movement truly works rather quickly. At the same time though, where will you go when you decide it's time to leave? You say you need to be visible, but where exactly? I've no problems with you setting your boundaries, either.
A moment of pause to consider her next words. This girl really is some kind of enigma. The fear of the nomads is understandable, and even the paranoia caused by the propaganda is acceptable. But it's only in a fairy tale kind of world where she'll be able to go back without further repercussions attributed to herself and her clan. She gulps down another mouthful of her drink and continues.
"You must first understand that the Dragons are not purely about political ideals, or combat prowess. It's more than that, Tekagi-san. It's a way of life, like any other. A way that refuses to put up with the antics of the Empire, or put down the swords we cherish in return for conformity and a stagnant quality of life. While we may hold some of the strongest pilots and speakers in Sirius, not every one of us is good at fighting, or good in politics. We may not have the comfort of the light, but in the dark, we are free to live and die as we please, unfazed by the imperial scum that have held you and your clan on a tight leash to this day. These same imperials, at the beck and call of Samura, take away the rights and freedoms of people just so they can profit off of them. Samura is the very reason the Dragons exist, from the day they robbed their ancestors of the light centuries ago."
She stops to catch her breath, before shaking her head and blushing so slightly that you'd have to squint to see it. When she gets on this topic, she always feels so inspired.
