Quote:1.3 Every player must have one ID equipped on their ship. Actual ID items do not exist in roleplay and players must be treated based on their IFF, however, every player should follow the restrictions and allowances listed in their ID. In cases where these restrictions and allowances conflict with the server rules, the ID overrides the rules.
I want to ask about Freelancer IFF, if I use pirate ID with Freelancer IFF, I can't pirate?
If I can pirate with pirate ID, how about unlawful ID with freelancer IFF?
Basically the ID is who you really are, but the IFF is how they see you. If you have an RM ID, but an LN IFF, flying a Libby and behaving casually, like an LN officer, this rule prevents your surroundings to consider you a member of the Militär, it would count as powergaming/metagaming. That is my interpretation of this rule based on it's current wording.

I want to pirate with Junker ID, Zoner IFF.
Traders only know they're at risk at 4k.
Is it possible?
its possible, but the junker ID can only pirate in kusari, gallia and outside of house space. though why not just use junker IFF as well?
I also find this very confusing. You could fly any IFF and ID and in most cases you'll always have to defer to the ID when interacting with a character, because how you treat them depends on what they can do to you, and that is outlined in the ID.
Would this mean that you could pirate with a pirate IFF but still have a freelancer ID? probably not right? So what's the point of going by IFF at all? Just because you have a 'navy' or 'police' IFF doesnt mean you can demand contraband and etc, so to me
Quote:players must be treated based on their IFF
is pointless to have in there. Either make IFF's reflect whatever ID you fly automatically, or make the IFF part of the rp. So if a transport with freelancer ID flies an IMG IFF, he can claim he's working for the IMG, but if not, as far as inter-faction/pvp rules of engagement go, that ship could and would be treated as a freelancer.
So you wan't to be seen as a Zoner from a distance & because of your IFF status
reading from your intended victim, he just thinks you'r a peacefull Zoner & there's
no danger of piracy from you, then you pounce with the piracy engagement because you're allowed to do by the pirate ID? yes?
Not a problem you doing that, you're free to do it rule wise, just be careful who you pirate though, hitting the wrong faction can bring trouble to your door.
But if you carry the pirate ID, there's no problem there, just a common pirate you are
& also have some freedom because you're not a pirate till you're caught doing something wrong, that's the law, they don't know about your ID.
eg: The biggest pirate faction in house i'd say are the Rogues & some don't pirate
or break the law & don't get into trouble with the authorities. Till they beak the law!
