This movie is reported to be Drama/Thriller. I can certainly see the drama part, but not the thriller.
Anyway, we got this middle class guy (Paul Walker), who is waiting at the hospital for his daughter to be born while Hurricane Katrina is gaining its momentum outside the hospital walls. The guy is informed by the doctor that his wife died during birth and his newborn child is in a special resuscitation machine, which breathes for the child. Doctor also says that the child will be able to breathe on its own after 48 hours.
Bad news don't come alone and electricity is cut off from the hospital, there is no electricity at all, period. Hospital is flooded by the Katrina. Emergency batteries of the resuscitation machine will only last 3 minutes without recharging. What the father will do to keep his child alive?
I found this movie to be drama, not thriller. It is an OK watch. The motion picture shows determination and human strength in an emergency situation, but the whole movie really lacks the thriller part. It is quiet soft and there is not much happening except the father is trying to keep the baby alive. The movie is missing that thriller's spike, that little bit of action, perhaps more flood, more wind or more marauders. Although the dad is literally "chained" to the baby's cradle, he could've found a battery and together they could've fought the devastating Katrina.
I give this movie 3.5 our of 5. It really could've been better.
