I don't know if it will work with every antivira, but this has 100% succes for me in AVG so far. Kodus to the one who wrote the post where I read it. Will add to faq when I find it again.
The DSAce.dll either gets changed or moved when you start the game and the antivira might react, even though you've allowed it.
Your AV should have an extended option to allow it both when it's changed and moved. You may need to make several exeptions, depending on which AV you use. AVG will only allow one box to be checked at a time.

Well guys im heading home now. On my main PC the game should work as intended so if it does i am going to close this thread. Thanks to everybody for the effort even if it did not help to bring Freelancer to my holiday PC.
Hopefully i will see you guys ingame.
Nope. Im from Switzerland and we have our own little house in the mountains and ive moved my 3 year old PC up there because im using a new one here. The game is working on this PC however, dont know why it would refuse to work on my old PC. Im gonna try to just move my FL and disco folders to the other PC next time i go there. Its working perfectly fine on this one.
Thanks to all who tried to help. Sorry that your solutions did not eliminate the problem.
(04-21-2014, 03:29 AM)Moriarty. Wrote: The problem is with your antivirus. Set an exception to your antivirus for the entire Freelancer folder. But before that, check the quarantine of your antivirus for a file named DsAce.dll, 2 files of the same name. Restore both of them and then set an exception to specifically those 2 files(1 will be in the EXE folder and the other will be in the Saved games folder in My documents/My games).
After that, set an exception to your firewall, for FL. Now,, it should work, and if it doesnt, again reinstall from scrap, and then do as I said. It will work for sure, if there is no other hardware related problem.
Thanks, helped me a lot !
I was desperate about finding a solution to this issue !
