Detailed Background, One Paragraph or So (the more we can learn about you, the better):
I will link you an entry that is saved on my artificial Intelligence assistant. Don't be surprised that I am still referred to as Hofmann, I have not updated the files yet.
Calm, serious and rather quiet most of the time, except if I don't have to. That is all I am going to say.
Biography:
Early years:
Planet Stuttgart, Stuttgart systen
Admiral Hofmann was born on Planet Stuttgart in the year of 793 A.S. He is the son of Eckart Hofman and Rosa Steinberger, his father was serving in the Rheinwehr while his mother was working as an inter-city architect. At the age of 3, Admiral Hofmann went to the "Kindergarten Buchwald" until 799 A.S. The Kindergarten was special for children of Rheinwehr soldiers so they could take the same way as the father or mother which was serving already, it had data about all the children that used to visit it, Admiral Hofmann was described as a "calm child that was dreaming of being like his father" social interaction was something he was very capable of while not tieing onto any of the kids he interacted with. Something he was very good in was sports, the physical education began early but had a military training style instead of a playful style, he exceeded many other children at exercises like climbing and running. Admiral Hofmann's lack of self-awareness was a minor issue in his childhood, although he was talented, failing at any given task would make him give up rather fast, this behavior could be traced up to his early stages into the BDM. At the age of 6, he visited the "Merz Grundschule" on Stuttgart, a private school for children that came out of Kindergarten like the one he visited. His favorite subjects were Biology, P.E, and history, which was easily observable at his grades. Admiral Hofmann showed interests in Rheinland war history and especially in anatomy regarding biology. His social interaction skills were described as "decent, unsuspicious and to the point", no school rule violation can be found within the registry. His first year at the school passed ordinary without any special accomplishments except for one registry where he was reported preventing a student of his class to hit another one. His mother was often controlling those entries to check after Admiral Hofmann just like most of the other parents, she did not point out anything negative at that time.
The Nomad War 800-801 A.S.
Eckart Hofmann as soldier
When the nomad war started in 800 A.S. it hit Rheinland the hardest, Admiral Hofmann was in te 2nd grade when the infected Kanzler Florian Gustav Niemann changed the military schools like the one Admiral Hofmann visited to propaganda places, the teachers were given new doctrines and were threatened to be killed should they not obey, every denial of this order would be punished with either death or imprisoning for a lifetime. Many children, if not every child, were easy to be influenced since they were taught that their teachers always knew what they're talking about, the new system was adapted by most of them rapidly, Rheinland was put as the victim that suffered the oppression of other houses and thus had to go to war, Admiral Hofmann did not believe this story, he found the sudden change of the average school day suspicious and began to ask questions, those questions could not be answered appropriately and thus he was told to be quiet about it, in this year he had several reports about "terrible misbehavior". The media was corrupted and so were the people representing the government and the Volk, Admiral Hofmann looked for a source of information that was not influenced by the government, he used an old radio to catch a transmission of the Bundschuh, that reported a nomad shipyard within the Westerwald cloud, but he was not the only one who knew about this, many others changed over to the Widerstand to fight against the threat while Admiral Hofmann was still in school. Admiral Hofmann's father was sent to war for Rheinland, it was not unknown that some soldiers were infected by the nomad threat and were used as puppets just like the Kanzler himself, that also goes for Admiral Hofmann's father, who returned home at the end of the war and tried to kill Admiral Hofmann as well as his mother. Admiral Hofmann was able to defend himself and his mother from his infected father, taking a knife and stabbing him and later shot him with his own gun. This influenced the life of Admiral Hofmann heavily, he began to grow a big interest for nomads and those who were infected by them. After the war was over, Rheinland replaced the propaganda and enabled a normal school life again, Admiral Hofmann finished his education in 813 A.S., he thought about becoming a scientist as this would bring him near the chance to work with nomads but he also wanted to prevent something like that from happening again, that made him join the BDM to fight the nomad threat in Rheinland and out of it.
Years in the BDM:
Hofmann in his pilot uniform
The Buro der Marineintelligenz saw potential in Admiral Hofmann, his time as Rekrut passed by rather fast as his years in school prepared him for such work, he was used to the stress the job put on him, he delivered his paperwork very fast and also very detailed. Although he had hands full of work, he would often go on travels for himself in his free time using his Wraith-class fighter to visit dangerous places like the Omicrons and deep Omegas behind Rheinland even though the BDM and any other lawful entity stated these areas as "Highly Dangerous". Those trips usually didn't get dangerous for him, until he reported having headaches and hearing voices and took a few days off. When Admiral Hofmann was back he said he took another trip to the Omegas and felt better after. And his working results prove his point, he did not report any further incidents of headaches or any kind of possibly dangerous unusuality. His work improved, his physical strength was remarkably better and he worked longer and more efficient which made it possible to climb the ranks of the BDM very fast. He was also often in contact with Hauptkommissar Keller, who often met him within Rheinland space. When he entered the Kommissariat des Seuchenschutzes he was assigned to the U-99 unit, an old Unterseebot that was remodified and used in the Nomad war already, to use it as reconnaissance vessel and local combat support unit.
The U-99 with Admiral Hofmann in Omega-5
On a patrol in the Omega-3 system, he and Inspektor Baldur Ohlendorf encountered two Sirius Colonial Revolutionary Army ships that came out of the Omega-5 system. After the successful elimination of the vessels, Admiral Hofmann delivered the information about an unknown Omega system to the Oberkommando which was later turned into a reconnaissance mission with the Kommissaroberrat Geoffrey Enfield, Inspektor Baldur Ohlendorf, Rekrut Hans Phillip and Rekrut Sylvia Stein, the first documented operation of Admiral Hofmann with this vessel outside of Rheinland. Admiral Hofmann's work in the BDM was focused on keeping the space safe to travel through, several incidents of foreign capital ships, including Liberty Navy dreadnoughts, were reported in the Frankfurt system, almost all of them were sent out by Admiral Hofmann himself. The Unioners proved to be an enemy that should not be underestimated, Admiral Hofmann as well as other Agents were often attacked by them, in 823 A.S. Admiral Hofmann received information about a superweapon capable of destroying big infrastructures in the hands of the Unioners by an Unioner woman named Jennifer Soma. The U-99 was sent back to Oder shipyard after several minor damages caused by the frequent attacks the Unioners have done, it was unable to be used for 2 days. On the 9th of January, 824 A.S. Stefan Hofmann was assigned to the position of the new Flotillenadmiral of the BDM, giving him the command over the Marinekommando.
The Freeport-11 incident:
Admiral Hofmann in Omicron Rho with Core
Guildmaster Jack Daniels
In 824 A.S. Freeport-11 in the Omicron Delta system was attacked by an NEMP strike which was led by extremists that claimed to the Core. This attack made the tensions between Zoners and Core soldiers collapse and a skirmish began. This led to many ships smuggling artifacts from the Omicrons through Rheinland as well as Omicron Supply Industries ships being seen in Rheinland space. The BDM decided to investigate the situation to get a closer look on the exact situation, Admiral Hofmann himself assigned this mission to him and flew to Omicron Delta with the U-99. Upon arrival, they were greeted by the Core Guildmaster Jack Daniels himself in a lucky coincidence. The Guildmaster promised to detail the situation to the Admiral and provide shelter for the U-99 while they were operating in the Omicrons. Furthermore, the Core provided valuable information about a hidden nomad Azurite reactor within the Omicron Delta Edge Nebula. The Core provided footage of Zoners attacking Core ships while assisting Order ships in the process, the known Zoner ships "Arcadia" and "I-401" are heavily responsible for said actions and are being prosecuted for that. Admiral Hofmann described the situation as very complicated since testimonies crossed lines, ALG ships accused the Core, so did Auxesian Vessels, proof for the accusations has not been provided. The whole situation got more complicated when ALG ships were attacked by the Core for supplying Freeport-11, the BDM promised to keep the Core supplied on demand with logistic vessels, Admiral Hofmann exchanged a deal that provided the BDM with two APC-18100 "Marlin" Core Very Heavy Fighters in exchange for one 140-ARKM-N58 "Bergelmir" Rheinland Bomber and a 90-ARKM-N45 "Wraith" Rheinland Very Heavy Fighter. This operation was important for further relations between the Core and the BDM, since the BDM is not able to assist the Core with any kind of warships.
Omicron Xi skirmishes:
BDM forces form up in the Omicron Xi nebula
The Omicron Xi system is guarded by the Corsairs with all of their force, the Kampgruppe Schwerin has already attempted to attack the system several times, without too many successes. in 824 A.S. the BDM started a small reconnaissance mission within the system to get a closer look on the Corsair's defense systems. However, Flottillenadmiral Hofmann and his little strike craft got ambushed and had to retreat again to prevent losing any of their forces. But the Direktor ordered another strike, a better planned and better-executed one. Flottillenadmiral Hofmann, the Zeisenburg, commanded by Kapitan Fischer, Agent Laurenz, and Rekrut Vincent Gergardt together with a Maltese National Council force built up their Flottille in the Omicron Xi nebula in which the jump hole to the Munich system is located. The Corsairs brought a force that was comparable to the BDM's and NC's one, they teamed up with the Unioners too, this evidence served as a further proof for their alliance. Within a few minutes, a fight started, both of the cruisers suffered heavy damages, Kapitan Fischer and the Zeisenburg have been brought back to Rheinland, Kapitan Fischer will receive necessary medical aid and the Zeisenburg is getting its repairs. As the fight was about to end, it was only the known Unioner "Gunda Riehl" left, whose ship got destroyed in a duel between her and Hofmann, the BDM, and the NC both called back their forces, though, since it was not known if there was another force of Corsairs near. Admiral Hofmann has already stated his interest in the system and is planning to expand operations within the hostile Corsair space. Omicron Xi has officially turned into a fighting ground between the Corsairs and Rheinland.
Operation against the Order:
Hofmann fighting Order forces
When the Core announced a new Guildmaster, Herr Peter Lambrecht, it was sure, that because of his views on the Zoners and the Order, the Core would become more tightened in its placement due to it being surrounded by enemies. Since the Buro was not in the position to help with fighting the Zoners, Admiral Hofmann promised to send out a capital ship of the Buro's Flottille to Omicron Delta where it was supposed to fight against the forces of the Order. Their force has grown again, a new group of terrorists called the "Task Force Providence", purpose unknown, has arisen attention there and caused problems already. In a clash between the Buro, the Core and said Order group, an Order Capital Vessel was destroyed. The Order has lost several ships during the operation, Agent Strausse joined Admiral Hofmann in this operation later on too, one of the Core's Paladin's called "Aidan Reeves" has shown a certain dislike for the new Guildmaster and showed symptoms of defection already, Admiral Hofmann stated that he would take care of this issue by himself. Herr Lambrecht has not been informed due to this. Since the recent activity of the Unioners has risen, Admiral Hofmann has ordered to pull back the ships that were stationed in the Omicrons, except for those that were there before, to aid in the fight against the Union, which seems to become stronger with every day. According to Admiral Hofmann, the situation in the Omicrons could escalate between the Buro and the Zoners, Herr Lambrecht has very offensive plan against this group, something Admiral Hofmann did not want to get involved in. Paladin Reeves described him as a warmonger who does not care about the safety of his people but only about the destruction of the Core's enemies, the testimonies have varied, a big part of the Core supports Herr Lambrecht.
Why do you want to join The Core/APM?: After having spent some time in the Omicrons and due to my previous relations with Mr. Jack Daniels, I came to the conclusion that it is an organization that does a very valuable job in those lonely worlds. I am sure I can contribute a certain level of skill to your organization, in terms of fighting against our common enemies. Furthermore, the Core is fighitng one instance that I despise and will always despise, the Order.
Recite Our Motto: DOLOR TRANSIT, GLORIA AETERNA EST
OoRP Form How long have you been playing Freelancer Discovery for?: I joined 10.11.15 but played Freelancer for about 7 years.
Have you ever played a Core character before? Have you read the lore of The Core? Do you know what The Core is?: I have not played a Core character yet, I haven't read the lore completely, it is long as hell, which is good but it is too late to read it concentrated now. To summarize the Core in my own words: It is a paramilitary edge world organization that counters the Nomad threat as well as the Order. It tries to make the Omicrons their fully controlled space which required them to go to war with the many individuals that oppose this way of thinking. They explore all of the Omicrons, hoping to find and examine alien technology.
How familiar are you with the Edge Worlds?: I think it's fine, I don't know it like my backpocket but I won't get lost. I would say 7-8/10
How would you rate your RP skills out of 10?: Hard to say, maybe 7 or 8, I can write a lot of things especially when I am eager. But not perfect
How would you rate your PvP skills out of 10? What ship-types are you good in?: Overall usefulness in battles would probably be 6-7, let's say "I can handle myself", I am really not the best PvPer but I always try to give my best and improve.
For the classes:
Snubs: I am okay, I tend to do dumb mistakes that annoy me and cause me to die often enough, I try to get better constantly, not that easy for me but it is fine. I focus a lot on snubs since it is the hardest class.
Bombers: I can land a SNAC or two, but I mainly use them to kill capitals, that is what they were made for after all.
Gunboats: I don't like them that much, especially since they seem rather hard to master but if mastered, a good allrounder. Hey, if someone can teach me how, I am open for it.
Cruisers: I like cruisers, good RP platforms, good firepower, I am not that good but also not that bad.
Battleships: My "favorite" class, best RP patforms, look nice, I am okay-decent I would say, but there are many that are better than me.
Why do you want to join the The Core?: Currently, my character is pretty stuck in a boring situation where I roam around and shoot people. The Core seems interesting to bring that a bit more into serious RP, especially the covert service seems very good for my character. I don't think it is a secret that my char is infected, but that is not the motivation to join, just to show you that this is not a super secret infultration.
Do you already own a Core ship? If yes, what ship(s) is it?: I fly a Manta on another char but I don't have a Core ID'd ship.
What Country and/or Time Zone do you operate in?: The land of beer. GMT+2
What is your Skype?: greymaster5, please, let's just all move to Discord.
