We are closely monitoring the RKS and making sure they don't repeat the mistakes of earlier iterations. So far, you've achieved some of the benchmarks we hold Kusari Factions to.
The ability to play individual characters well.
The ability to play at an organizational level.
The ability to co-operate with other factions & independents.
Doing your faction's job.
Forcing activity in Kusari.
The key is to both tie things together and try to stratify the purpose of the RKS as opposed to the KNF or Kempeitai. We like that you are fully aware of this, as we are trying to force this ourselves and maintain a reasonable identity and cohesion of the groups in Kusari.
In general.
RKS is a "police" faction that should generally be taking care of smugglers, petty pirates, and keeping trade flowing, and maybe doing some felony investigations.
KNF's job is to kill stuff. Be it Dangerous Terrorists outside the RKS' level, Military threats, and generally provide backup if the RKS is up against something serious.
Kempeitai is part Intelligence Service, part Military Police. Our job is mainly espionage, maintaining "political hygiene", and anti-Nomad duties. Not frontline combat or traffic inspection.
Such as it is, we should attempt to not "do each other's job" and generally refer things to whichever organization best fits the task, but otherwise not step on each other's toes. Such as we have discussed.
Longevity, however, requires long-term plans. We would suggest that the RKS come up with some faction-specific plots such as long term criminal investigations and generally flesh out the "personality" of the faction.
The one thing we want to prevent is a "spurt" of activity then fizzling out, much as what happened with the previous KSP.
While your feedback is appreciated, as Kusari players and players of Disco as a whole, you do not waltz into a feedback thread in order to explicitly tell another group of players what to do.
We (The people who helped me form RKS| in the first place) know what we set out to do, we know what separates a military organization from a police organization, we know how to play characters that seem like cops in space, and not like stoic military pilots.
We know, and you should also know, that our intent as a faction is not to go out and "Fight Wars" for Kusari, as that is and should be the [KNF]'s job, however of course we'll assist them if -they- ask us to, or seem to need it.
As a group, we set out to bring some activity back to Kusari, and also to play at "Space cops" in a unique setting and style, and to show people that Police factions are something that can actually still be interesting, and different from "Navy factions", even if the two wind up doing SOME similar tasks.
We know our role as an inRP organization, we know our role as characters, and we know what we're doing as players.
The two people who helped me form the RKS, and who are now helping me lead it as we move forward, are people whom I trust, and who I know for a fact have the ability to lead factions and manage players.
If you want to talk down to our characters and tell them what to do as your glorious and mysterious kempeitai agents, you should do so, as it's good RP and whatnot, but to come in here and talk down to us and more or less tell us what to do as players?
Maybe you're trying to help, but the attitude and tone of your post is just totally wrong. If I were a new player coming into Disco with an interest in Kusari, and I saw that post, I would think to myself "Whoa screw that, I'd rather go to Liberty where I can do what I want." What I mean to say is, the attitude you came in here and posted with, is not the kind of attitude that's going to make people want to fly with you in game, or bring consistent activity to "Your" area of Discovery either.
Also; Hi, have you even read our "info page" because it clearly states what our "mission" is, and that we know what our "mission" is. From the way you spoke in your post it feels like you haven't even read it.
We set out to fill a vacant niche that seemed interesting and like it would be neat to play, and it's also a change of pace and scenery for many of the players who've come into the RKS. We also set out to help bring activity and interest to Kusari, and to work with the longstanding factions that are there, and that's something we've also done a pretty good job of so far, we've gone along with things in-character and so on, and we've cooperated pretty well in-game, but don't think for a second that that means you control us as players, or have any right to do so, because you don't.
TL;DR: Your post told us things we already know, and showed a pretty "interesting" mindset on your part. We're not setting out to create problems, and we haven't created problems, so why you felt the need to come on with that attitude? I dunno.
You want activity and in game cooperation? This isn't how you get it, in fact this is a pretty good way to actually sour what so far have been decent "relations".
You misinterpreted our post, Sarah. That was a compliment on doing as we discussed, not an attempt to talk down to you. Although it did tell us some things about you we were curious about. Interpret that how you will.
Hey hey all, I'm flattered that you miss our presence, but I promise that we ARE still around!
I've been super busy at work lately, so I've had less time for Disco, the guys should still be out and about though, even without me around. (Although I am still around too, just less) Dx
The few people I know of RKS say that they haven't logged recently, and I haven't seen anyone.
Even if I'm not watching 24/7, I still could catch a glimpse of RKS once in a while.
Well, Sarah is still out of a computer, and I have 70+ hours long work weeks if I consider school, work and homeworks. I'm trying to find more stable times to actually play and force people to log, but it's not so simple.
