So, nomads can jump from a cloak and attack anyone at any time without any roleplay.
Can anyone attack the nomads without any roleplay?
If not, then there is a big problem and unbalance here... There is still, infinite cloak is just... a little too much. With no means to counter it, uncloak nomads.
Omicrons are a dangerous place. This has been a topic many times in the past, as i'm quite sure this is a duplicate thread, however..
Nomads yes, can jump out of a cloak and attack without Roleplay. That has been stated by the Admins. Through subject to change, it has not been yet, so I am assuming it's still within the rules.
As for people attacking Nomads without Roleplay? An engagement notice I assume would still be required. From both parties that is. Correct me if i'm wrong on that one however, i'm unsure myself.
Infinite Cloaks? The Nomad ID is restricted to Gunboat and below, that gets rid of the large problems of insta-kill deaths. Yes, it's slightly unbalanced, but again. The Omicrons are a dangerous place.
I suggest making a nomad (preferably a Labraid) yourself and fly through the Omicrons (or even better: K'Hara and fly to New York) without using a cloak to answer all your questions for yourself.
Infinite cloak for small nomads not only makes sense, but impossible. no matter how advanced one can be, it still requires some form of resource - being organic is simply impossible. Might as well give them fuel, Or in some sci-fi terms, a special resource - I don't like that insta-kills. Admins did not took the proper measures when allowing this restriction, not all factions in-space can insta engage nomads in term - thus it makes none order - none core factions inferior. Like corsairs, or dare I say, zoners. Why should we role-play? The very idea that the omicrons are a dangerious place that it should grant special allowances to the factions that live there. Yet thats not the case, so the factions need to swallow it and keep their complaints to themselves.
The K'Hara does have internal rules when it comes to the cloaks. That indeed is a potential solution to consider.
Although I must ask, is this problem of insta-kills really that big? I've almost 'never' heard of this happening by an Indie Nomad until this point on the forums. Is this merely speculation?
Once something similar was in question, and then the final conclusion was that everyone have to RP before an attack, even those who have the "can engage freely" line in their ID. An Admin/Mod said back then that line means they don't have to make demand or have RP reason to attack, but they still have to drop a few lines before engagement. So if the Nomad drops a few lines into system before uncloaking and insta-killing someone, that supposed to be within rules, no matter how much that is frowned upon.

Yes, there are a handful of nommies who do infact uncloak and engage at the same time. One such scenario included one of your members, and I was even told to leave the system even though I was trading. I should also mention that it was the khara ( surprisingly enough ) that insta me. You may remember that a few weeks ago they have had a number of wilde + indie nomms with them. I couldn't bother mentioning this in your feedback, but then now its self-evident.
Anyway, it doesn't matter how many times peoiple have said that nommies are outnumbered and require a buff, even if the gunbot + is completely op - its way more unrealistic to grant indies the free engagement card. Yes, its common sense that aliens dont talk nor are likely to negotiate and instead rather shoot you, I understand that - but I don't understand why you think its such a better idea to consider all other factions except order and core as inferior. I have my way of engaging people, but why should I do that if the other side is opaque to any form of rp. This is not "what makes sense" even though I think in some way it should, its about balancing. And you may also notice that unlike others I did not generalise or used this chance to open a /remove thread like some I could mention, but its a loop hole that needs to be closed. Either that, or be kind enough to buff this restriction to any faction that lives in the omicrons and grant them the same card. This restriction gives the innitiavte to the nomads, like our poor deluded politicians who twisted the rules of engagement that they no longer shoot anyone until being shot.
I don't know everything. Unless people tell me, there is little I can, or will do about it.
As such, the only thing I can really say about your complaints, is re-stating that the Omicrons is a dangerous place. The Nomads aren't meant to be push-overs. Quite the opposite. That's why we have the lovely folks over at the Order combating the Nomads. The Nomads 'are' dangerous. Say the wrong thing, you will have an attempt at your life.
I wouldn't call it a loophole. But a subject of complaint people like to bring up when they feel things are not balanced, which in this case, is perhaps indeed the case. -- Gunboats, Bombers, and Fighters are all you have to deal with outside of the K'Hara. I really don't think that's too bad.
