I personally wouldn't object to a b/b transfer restriction to within 200 m. The ships doing the transfer would basically have to stop during the process. I would prefer players to actually develop a spirit of sportsmanship and fairplay, but I guess that's a pipedream.
Instead of removing botts/batts altogether, would it not be simple enough to just reduce the amounts that ships can carry? Or is that code hard-wired in?
Example: give BS a 25% increase in hull HP, and decrease their botts by 50%.
Thus, botts become something you use as a last resort to save your ship instead of something you freely hand out to every snub, willy-nilly. Also, increase their price maybe 200%. Make it more costly.

That wont help since BSs will still have their 800 bots, which in a snub brawl would change the course of the battle.

Well, the numbers I threw out were arbitrary, but I still think the idea is viable. Just adjust the numbers to make them meaningful and appropriate.
I still say bots/bats are an oorp representation of the pilot/crew's ability to repair their own ship, and have no business being traded or acknowledged inrp.
Make them non-tradable and give the repair ship a repair beam, already.
Better yet, give us some new ship modules to put in those extra hyperspatial slots that repair nearby ships, or give you passive healing, or give you a big HOT at the cost of powercore drain, etc.
First of all i am fairly new to these forums so dont kill me please.
I was thinking could you introduce graded bots/bats eg one class for snubs one for caps or whatever classes you needed to balance it out. therefore if snubs cannot use cap grade bots then feeding from cap to snub is pointless and is stopped without removing it from any ship class at all.
While messing up with bot/bat trading for snub combat, don't forget NOT TO touch battleship fleet fights. You've already hit them with cloak changes.
First focused battleship with full b/b and Cau8 can go down in 9-13 seconds. Bot feeding becomes an important teamwork skill (yes, skill, due to time restrictions) under such conditions.
We once had a fight that lasted around 4 minutes, during which our Flagship, that also was the first focused one, chewed through around 8-12 thousands nanobots and batteries during it's course.
I can't care less for snubfights in which I never participate and which I totally do not enjoy, and that may easily last for 30 mins and upwards - BUT DON'T TOUCH FLEET COMBAT PLEASE. Bot feeding is the only real way to stay alive in brawls through heavy teamwork. Unless you'll find an alternative way to make first focused BS in a 5x5 close range brawl last for longer than 8-12s, without screwing something else.
Just remove the damn bots from snubs, if it's that huge of a problem. Wouldn't be possible to instakill with Nova/Razors? Well, too bad, but this way you're screwing up certain weapon loadouts instead of screwing up completely unrelated ship class and combat type.
Don't forget to remove ship repair capability from docking modules then, though.

Uhm, but would it be possible to apply same judgement to cloaked ship communicating at least in system chat?
