I'm not sure if this is in the right forum, I didn't know which was appropriate.
I don't wish to stir anything up, but I am wondering if there is any process as to dealing with a faction that seems to have nobody representing it.
I posted a requisition request with the Republic of Liberty here about a month ago but the thread has not been upkept. Now I was happy to wait but I have come to the point where I am submitting an application form to join their bounty board and I am worried it is going to be a very long time before I can legally make a kill on behalf of Liberty.
There are also others that have been waiting for some time for payment for kills they have already made, to the tune of hundreds of millions i believe.
I understand that whoever is responsible for that account may well have RL issues that need dealing with, and that is absolutely fine. But as a new player it makes it very hard to immerse yourself in the roleplay when you can't get an answer back from one of the main official factions on any topic.
Is there anybody else that can handle these matters? Is there a process for finding out whether the member using the Liberty Government has given up playing? Am I just going to have to wait and see?
There's a lot of waiting involved. It sucks, but that's just how it is. The relevant key people have real lives, and also try to have some fun when they play rather than oversee administrative duties or haul to pay for bounty boards.*
Some years back, there was a lot more activity and things would be current and up-to-date, but these days it seems like you just have to roll with it.
So use your "stolen" tech and if anyone complains, refer to the requisition thread. In-game, I'd say clearly declare your intentions every time you are facing a prospective target, and let Liberty Navy folks on the scene know that you intend to claim the kills on the board once it becomes active. It's a violation of the rules, but since forever Freelancer ID'd players have just been jumping into action with no payment whatsoever without getting sanctioned - at least you are honest about your intentions and people can't be upset that they get stabbed in the back by a supposed neutral.
* If you ask me, official factions should be given a billion each month by the admin team to fund bounty boards - the boards provide a key aspect to the game- and roleplay.
Bounty Board
- Registration: a few days
- Payment: monthly
Communications
- Comms channel: up to 2 weeks depending on detail/length of required response, but ideally within 1 week
- Forum PM: indefinite, PM inbox not checked regularly
- Surplus Req: usually within a week, can be overlooked due to low frequency of use
The general delays relative to the speed of most other inrp forum communications can be attributed to our heavily democratized system that slows down significantly when the participants are inactive, busy, or otherwise unavailable. It would appear that Registration and Surplus Req are both overdue and/or overlooked, but Payments would be on time if completed within a week. Hopefully some of that will be adressed this weekend.
Quote:3. Players are required to claim for kills made under a bounty contract within three days time. Board owners are required to forward payment of the claimed bounties at least once every two weeks.
