Hi there, I just spent 6 hours watching American Football and processing Sanction Reports (thank's to Movit## for helping out with some of it). Now, the fact that it took 6 hours is the Admin's fault, it seems like everyone got super busy with life all of a sudden, so those and a few other things started piling up. I'll be back to full activity in late (the later the better) October, but for now we'll continue patchwork style. What I'm trying to say is "hopefully things won't get this backlogged again for a while".
What I noticed though, and this is the reason for this rambly post, is that there were a lot of violation reports where I know the accused was guilty, but cannot do anything about it due to a lack of evidence.
If you're reporting someone killing you without saying anything, it's very helpful if you include screenshots of your whole chat log.
If you're reporting someone docking somewhere they shouldn't, we need that "xxx has requested to dock" message, because without it or them still being docked there, we don't have any proof.
Don't edit your screenshots. At all. One person blanked out 1 line of chat, and we had to toss the whole report.
Turn on /time. It makes our lives so much easier if we don't have to dig through 3 weeks of chatlogs to find your interaction.
Try to include as much of the story as possible. We have people just drop in 2 or 3 screenshots, and expect us to figure it all out. I'm smart, not psychic. Yet.
Hopefully if everybody follows these tips, we can process through sanction reports a little faster than we have been.
Thank you, I think people need feedback like this.
I don't know, but it would be possible to send a PM to the sender of a failed sanction report pointing out his mistakes, so he can file in a proper one next time. Admins have already processed the report, so they know what is wrong or missing, only a few lines of PM should be sent, like "Hi. Your report failed, because we need the screen about him docking/we need the whole conversation/etc". So the player won't make the same mistake again.

I think that's pretty much the point of this thread, could you imagine sending out a pm to everyone who files a sanction? It likely (I say likely due to the fact that I am obviously not an admin and therefore cannot be one hundred percent sure) would not be a practical solution to implement as it would be yet another thing that takes up loads of the admins time.
Rather it would be better for people to use a bit of common sense when filing a sanction report.

It wont be much longer Mwerte
Also, thanks for the reminder of the guidelines
This Galaxy is vast; its wonders and beauty are almost unfathomable. But the galaxy also hides dark secrets, some of which have lain dormant since the beginning of time itself. There is a danger in secrets, both in seeking and in knowing. Some things are meant to be hidden from view. Some mysteries defy understanding, and sometimes even the things we think we know are untrue. Some secrets should remain untouched.

Chat text logs in and of themselves are not evidence, but they certainly make things much easier to read.

Sometimes we try to, but after a long spree of sanction reports processing, it's usually time for something that doesn't involve electricity. It would also be one thing if it was just "send PM and done". But usually it's "send PM and spend 3 days arguing about it".
