Has anybody worked out how to stop screen fonts jumping around on this gfx chip yet?
---> Intel 945 express chipset family
Even cannon couldn't solve a while back
Has anybody found anything new?
Or should I start saving for a replacement for my 8yr old laptop?
I have a 256mb nvidia gfx card for laptop. But no spare slots so upgrade not an option.
EDIT: turning off vsync does nothing
last drivers released were in 2008.
anything newer.
or upgrade to post 2008 os like 7 or 8? Would newer system have newer drivers available?
Also:
Any way to make fl start first time? On vista...
Have to kill and restart game on launchpad every time
As a side note:
My gaming tower goes crazy flashing green and white on every game start. ENBseries glitch I think.
Any way to fix this? Keep nearly giving my wife fits

A 8 year old laptop, uh. And I thought my devices from 2 year ago were already outdated a lot. I would suggest you to save for a replacement, you can get a good laptop with 15" , AMD Quad Core , 4 GB ram and an AMD Graphics 1 GB vRam for around 350-500 €~.
I would suggest you AMD and not Intel, no one needs the overpriced "Intel SmartCache". They make the price difference, though AMD has less of it but 2-4x more work capacity.
i.E. an AMD 8 Core CPU costs 2x less then an Intel 4 Core and gives you 1.5x more capacity at all. AMD is cheaper, and you get a lot more. But for a tower PC I would suggest a Nvidia Graphic Card + AMD CPU + some proper RAM

tl;dr - You should save up for a new laptop, the cost would be around 350 €~ to run all games that got released till late 2014, or pay 150 € more (500 at all) to buy a "high-end-wannabe" laptop that will even run Star Citizen on minimum.

3 way sli
Already using crosshair iv extreme mb
That is overkill if you just wanna play Freelancer.
Also, check and see what processor you're running before you do that, you need at least a decent i5 in order to escape the throttling / bottlenecking the processor will put on the graphics cards. For games like Battlefield 4, processor power is critical. For Freelancer you already have an overkill load out since FL doesn't support SLI.
Also, instead of 3 way SLI 560s, switch for dual 760s or a single 780. AMD 7870 or 7970 holds out as well.
Was just a thought
I could get a couple of 560ti cards for about £30-40 each
The mb I have has a hydra chip so I could use hydralogix drivers instead to avoid sli incompatibility problems.
I don't just play fl with this pc, as just about any pc will run fl well, with the exception of my laptop.
I'm determined to get that laptop to stop scrambling fonts.
The only thing that works so far: open the chat window, and keep it open, which makes keyboard keys useless.
