You can take a look at the in game ID when you create a new character and type /restart fcAI. Your ship will then have an AI ID you can look at. And according to that, you can attack any ship, barring transports and freighters, in a system that does not contain a Jump Gate for any reason. Everything else is the standard self-defense/aid of an AI IDed vessel stuff.
So no, it would seem that if you're out to assist in pirating transports and freighters, you're out of luck unless you trick them into shooting you first.
I read the ID description, of course, before posting here. It brought me some questions and I asked here. ID says that AI can only attack in self-defense or in defense of another AI ship. But in 4.85 I can remember there were some AI ships in house systems who were shooting lawfuls with Pirates.
Quote:So I am going to say if the ai in rp is programmed to assist pirates then why not .
I'm repeating myself "Why not?" too, but I need to be sure about it. In 4.85 it was like you say, but I have no idea how it is nowadays.

I don't really want to pirate ships with AI ships, I Know that. I'm asking if it can assist pirates against lawful warships.

Well it's not 4.85 anymore so yeah. Raptor pretty much explained it all for you.
And anyway where exactly does it say ?
Quote:It says cannot do unlawful actions unless assisting

I see no mention of that line in the ID.
oh... Which place did u get the Id from? I checked the wiki. Maybe that one is outdated.
Why shouldn't be AI be able to assist a group of pirates, if the RP is done properly? Like Nomnom said, what if AI is programmed to assist pirates? In RP it should be quite possible, no?

Well, it doesn't really say that It can assist pirates... but in RP it should be possible, I say that.
