He looked away from the wall after looking once more at it and turned off the light that was illuminating it. He sighs a little and leans against the desk for a while in thought. He didnt hear what she said though but he looked at her again after some time as she was looking up at the ceiling.
The sound of metal on wood might startle her as he took his revolver out of its holster and tossed it lightly on the desk. She could hear him taking off the belt too also with a jingle in the still air and then it was tossed also on the desk. He reached for bottle again, a source of relief for him, and drank some more and grumbled at how it burnt in his throat. He shook it off and put it down again as he paced to the other side of the room to a closet and opened it. Shrugging his jacket off he tossed it in the closet.
He turned to her again. He looked like he was in deep thought but also a bit down. There could be seen he looked alone. He forced a small smile, but it was difficult for him to hold it.
"Do you have any other injuries?... I need to know if you're alright."
It might seem like a normal question to her... but he meant what he said in more ways then one.
His revolver hitting the desk did startle her, she wasn't expecting that to break the silence. By the time the belt hit the desk, she had expected the noise. She looked across at him, picking up on how down he looked. His forced smile didn't do anything to make him look happier.
"Do you have any other injuries?... I need to know if you're alright."
She shrugged at his question, taking it as it was. The rest of the injuries weren't bad. Just small cuts, grazes and bruising. "The rest... I don't think it's anything serious." She waited for him to argue, closing her eyes and contemplating going back to sleep.
She moved her hands back over her side and fell silent again, she didn't know what she could say to cheer him up and she was more concerned about him then she was herself. Still not knowing what to say, she just shrugged off his question "I will be fine."
"That's what you said before with the cut on your side... Just show me where you feel pain and I'll have a look."
He steps closer, insisting in his tone of voice that she should let him look her over. He looked over her and scratched his unshaven face again thinking and then sighing a little.
"What's the worst thing that can happen? If it's nothing then at least I wont worry so much."
He sighs and shakes his head, trying to have some sort of patience with her, but he was tired too and his patience was decreasing quite quick. Stepping closer he sits next to the bed and takes the glass again and motions to offer it to her. "At least... drink..."
She nods and takes the glass, thanking him. Sipping at the drink she watches him sit on the bed. He was irritable.
"It's just here." She pulled back her hair for him to see before pointing down to her knees. "And a few grazes on my knees. Other then that, I just have a bit of a headache." She shrugs slightly, taking another sip of her drink. "Honestly... I am ok... Thanks to you." She smiled a little and went to put the drink back down.
She watches him for a moment, not sure what to say. He wasn't how she had remembered him, he never use to look down or have this little patience.
He nods after looking where she showed her behind her hair and sighs again, now more of a sigh or relief. He moves his hand and moves her hair a little just to see the bruise again before moving her hair back. It seemed he was thinking to himself as he did since he was nice and slow in the stroke and gentile.
"I'd get you something for the headache but... we ran out... and its hard to find them out here... pills and what not. I probably used them all up with Gorge and... " he shrugs, "the other thing that was left is the alcohol that keeps us going... Well I dont know how he's feeling but I still feel it a little... it helps but... I still hear them..."
He groans a little and he rubs his forehead with his hand, running his fingers through his own hair and messing it up a little. She could tell if, she looked, that he was tired.
He would look back and notice she was asleep. At first he thought she passed out again.... but then he noticed her steady breathing. He sighs a little and shakes his head, walking back to reach for the bottle of vodka and taking another sip. He would have to get rid of his cargo soon.... one way or another it had to go. He couldn't stand keeping it for much longer. He looked again into his drawers as he shuffled through the room and went through the empty bottles of pharmaceuticals that he had used up for his headaches. He managed to find one in the back... but it only had one left in it. He sighed and shook his head. He wanted it badly..... but he didn't need it as much as Thing did, he realized.
Sipping some more he put the bottle to the side again and walked back over to the small bed where she was resting and poked her, seeing if she would wake up and take the pill. He still wanted her to at least finish her drink of water that she put down.
"Hey... wake up just for a bit at least and take this..." He holds he pill close to her lips and the glass near too. It would help her... he hopes.
She woke, "Jackson?" She sounded almost confused. She took the pill and sipped the water as he had wanted her to, but it was clear she was quite disorientated, unsure of what was going on.
As she woke more, she began to recall parts of the days events. He didn't want to help her, but he still did. He didn't want her there. She remembered his impatience with her and the situation. Shaking her head slightly she mumbled "I'm sorry. I shouldn't have come." It was at this point she opened her eyes and looked across at him.
He rolls his eyes but a smirk still creeps up on his face as she again apologizes as she is waking up again.
"It's... fine... You'll feel better soon anyway... as long as you rest up a bit though... should be alright..." He nods slowly, thinking as he looks at her.
He could feel his headache a little still and he tries to hide it as best he can, doing a good job of it though his head felt heavy, and not only from the headache.
He pulled the covers up over her to cover her. "I'm gonna go... probably to the bridge... sleep there I guess...is there anything still that I didn't look at? "
He kinda knew there probably wasn't anything else and he attended to everything. He asked anyway though... partly becasue he didn't want to leave her yet though he still felt tired. He wondered though if he should stay in the room... but he figured too she needed to have her time alone to rest. "Are you... still thirsty?" he felt kinda dumb to ask though he didnt really care all that much it it felt dumb or not at the moment... his drinking made him feel that way.
