lets also follow the rules properly and we have to demand first for NPCs to drop cargo before we shoot them.
wait 20 seconds and watch them fly away.
Oh and also wait forever for NPCs to unblock from JG when they get stuck and you are in a convoy. Always someone shoots the NPCs down. So basically we can santion him for doing that? LOL wow.

Yup
Treating NPCs as player , mmmm not that good of an idea. But why stop there, let's go beyond that, shall we report a NPC for killing us without prior warning? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I6KC0PAvJZw
I was speaking about treating NPC vessels as allied (or neutral in some cases) vessels, if someone assaults them. At least, this is how it is made and written in ID - and as I was asking Angels some time ago, player can treat NPC as a player vessel, if such vessel is under attack.
I believe question here is: "If we can treat NPCs as our allies (or neutral vessels we protect as authority), should we follow ID rules against NPCs as well?"
Mind that I'm against sanctioning players for shooting down NPCs - inRP sanction in form of fine or kill is enough.
TL;DR Player can treat NPCs as normal player vessels in the lines concering about protecting vessels.
So if the vessil is assulted then you can ban the player from the game in the form of sanctioning? No.
Just shooting in game to "assist" the NPC. Thats what i boils down to for your argument. An excuse to get a blue.

Oh jeez, this is probably one of the silliest things I've heard, I'm sorry but it is.
"Oh, I can't do missions - it's against the rules to shoot them because I'm a freelancer!"
"What's that? NPC blocking the gate? Ha, sucks to be you! You can't shoot them!"
NPCS are NPCS, they're useless, used for repping and also killing for cargo. It's not really against the rules or OORP to shoot the npcs and sell their cargo, probably is a bit more OORP if you use Zoner ID though. If you really care that much - park a flipping Cruiser up their exhaust which can tell them to "stop terrorising the drones" or something. You CAN defend if someone is shooting your own npcs of your faction, or shooting allies. So there's a solution if someone really annoys you that much.
Shouldn't really be telling people off just for killing npcs
Tbh LN around Bethlehem can get rid of this problem by filing for assault of a neutral or friendly entity. It's not a difficult issue to find a solution to.

If you can't wait up to 30 seconds for the gate being unlocked, I can't do much about that. However annoying, I find that more "real" (there's something like traffic) than shooting down your own NPC, because it is a bit ooRP. I just pointed out that NPCs and Player vessels are the same for ID, as rules says so. I asked admin yesterday if NPCs are treated as Player vessels in certain lines (such as defence) - and they are.
However, when I am against sanctioning out of the game (rules), it should have consequences in roleplay, if you get caught by the authorities. I believe it would be descibed by the term "going postal", because you are fed up by traffic and smash other ship out of the rage (in roleplay).
I'm keeping to that, because this is ROLEPLAY server for some reason and we should keep both our messages and actions in character. You are fed up by a transport? Good, roleplay it (while in a convoy). The other thing is if you are alone - so do what you want, but don't whine if you get caught by officer of the local area.
Be a man, use pirate ID and face the consequences when got caught. : )
Sorry, but I just want to punch those people into oblivion, those who are using FL ID and Zoner ID and other such IDs to farm NPCs, which is basically borderline abuse of the game mechanics (using Zoner ID to farm around Beth, using police ID to shoot NPCs around planets). When asked about, all they say is "Mind your business" which is pretty annoying imo. I find that this is the preferred way to get quick cash with no real consequences, for majority of the ruski NY Ranseur spammers.
It seems that some of You people missing my point - NPC are part of Role Play
this is an RP Server - roleplaying is required while playing here.
Freelancers are not pirates - they cannot sit on treadeline and shoot NPC
for purpose stealing their cargo.
If Your ID not state otherwise - You cannot shoot whatever you like,
You cannot shoot allies, neutrals - NPC neither players
I get it - bringing ban-hammer is a little too much - yet it's still
action against the server rules, and such people should be instructed.
Since now they will cargo-pirating NPC - later they will broke more and more rules.
(one of people I've meet - do not see a problem with flying 5k ship with FL ID
another one was trying to "help me" by urging cooperation in killing NPC
since "You could earn quite a cash")
You might think that I'm a rule-lawyer - yet I'm simply concerned about future
of our community, future of our server.
New players do not reading the Server Rules, Infocards and limitations in ID's
and if nothing will be done - soon server will be overtaken by such people.

We are not talking about making missions - We are talking about metagaming
where players do not see a problem in harming gameplay - by taking ooRP actions
abusing their landing-rights on specific ID at the same time breaking their limitations
by taking not-allowed actions.
PS. I never shoot NPC blocking a jump-gate. Never - ever.

I don't believe acts against npcs are worthy of a sanction, much less of a report for server rules violations. However, it is still a rp action, and very likely a inrp criminal offense.
That being said, I believe that while they aren't liable for metagaming/rules sanctions, they leave themselves open to law enforcement persecution. Report them to the police, or bring the police yourself, and see them changing their tone of speech when faced with someone that will drag their behinds to jail (with a kill).
