All discovery capital ships are like 500-600m lenght.
Why no vertical?
"would anyone build them in role play?"
"can a ship like that exist in the game engine?"
I thing it would be like undergoing some hard torture practics, flying something like this into asteroids. Or... try to dock on a JG. Good luck. However, it would be interresting to pvp: 800 meters long turtle vs something crescent-shaped, 800 meters hight, or something looking like oversized snub. Like Klingon bird of prey (B'rel) vs Oder gunboat.... It would mean some diversity in this game. That would be cool to have various designs and weapons... This game lacks diversity. But implementing something like this would mean totally new faction. Why would currently existing factions waste materials on something what was never tried? Why would they experiment with ship shapes when old designs showed to be good? Afterall, interresting idea (-;
