Nobody can explain what is main point in "faction ID violation"...
A group of people flying together without tags (but with different IDs/IFF/tech) have no problems at all. But once they put some initials at the end/beginning of their names the whole bunch of problems start appearing. Even though, they do what they used to do without tags, but still lots of sanctions coming for them.
What's the point?
Edit: In different ID/IFF I don't mean the enemies. For example, hessians, UN, Pirates, etc...

Not saying I agree with it, but I'd imagine the Admins would be more concerned about multiple IDs being used to regularly skirt engagement rules and shoot people over unofficial trade factions trying to visit different houses.
Yeah, I think you hit the nail on the head.
Parts of the community demanded action against these oh so bad pirates, and admins had to conjure up some way to hit them.
A rules violation is a rules violation, no matter if pews are involved. If pews has any bearing on admin decisions, they aren't fit for the job. Now, why haven't anybody reacted to T&T, if the double ID rules violation is such a terrible problem...? Will they be hit just as hard as GNG? Place your bets
This is just Sanctionlancer gone wrong, and there's no way of going back now.
This whole suggestion is cool and nice and fair... but if we look at it from a different angle, the original post could also be summed up like "because not wearing tags is a way to get rid of factional responsibilities/regulations, those wearing tags should be free from those as well, to make it fair". I'd rather like to see a solution which ensures fairness while doesn't hand out unnecessary freedom, or libertine, if I may say, but maintains some level of order on the server. The last thing we need is to have everybody be excempt from all rules in the name of fairness.

That correct, and thats one of the reasons Im reacting here.
I would hate to have to de-tag the J/T&T/ ships and only use Freelancer ID for the T&T/ tag just to be on the right side of the rules.
It would not even change anything... it would only make our ships harder to identify.
Good point on what Fynn wrote. I don't see anything wrong in using SLIGHTLY different tag with different ID... However, if anyone does something bad of altered tag, the main faction will be suspicious for sure in roleplay and I'm fine with that.
Here's an idea. Add a rule that states there is a possibility to combine ID's for unofficial groups, but ONLY and EXCLUSIVELY non-affiliated ID's, with affiliated ones. Example.
If for example the Tinkers were to want to have a second tag which is ALG, that would be a definite and complete no. Tutashkia's group as well- LR ID combined with RN id, with some Corsair thrown into the mix? Nope. However.
Junker, Pirate and Freelancer ID's under one tag? Why not. I believe in unofficial groups, Freelancer, Pirate, Miner ID's should be allowed to coexist with ONE other non-neutral, non-Zoner ID.
Sucks to be a weight on the wrong side of the brilliance-insanity scale.
there have never been any corsair in my group just an imperator. whats more gng is allied with rha so inrp i've always been agains sails. anyway it's fixed already. flying an imperatordoesn't mean i'm a corsaiir or their allied.
