IMG bases are unlandable for GJ and are rephacked that way, unless you fire down few OC npcs. But logging again or/and undocking the base returns you to the unfriendly status with IMG.

I really wish GJs could just be reintroduced as gallic privateers and having no relations to Junkers whatsoever.
+1!
My gosh.....I'm agreeing with Lyth too much these days....

I am not talking about "no-docking -0,55" rephack, but a fully red -0,9 rep that makes NPCs attack you, and bases shoot you. The way you describe your plan, this is the only rep that does not conflict with 1.3.

I'm not sure about that, but the bit about GJs going into Sirius as Sirian Junkers and stealing all the lane technology and other intel for the Crown was retconned. Hence why there's no real clue about what the link between Gallic Junkers and Sirian Junkers is, and where Gallic Junkers even came from.
I was under the impression the only part that was retconned was the part that Junkers provided Gallia with trade lane/jump gate tech. I think they were still sent through a hyper gate or something as spies originally. I might be wrong but whatever.

Hack is on hostile in fact. I mean, it's not even -0,55, but rather something like -0,89. I'd rather describe it, as... well... you do mess, we shoot you up.
As far as I am concerned, this is because IMG have to tolerate Gallic guys, but don't worry. I personally don't land on Java, unless I am politely invited. I base around the Tau-31 and Languedoc Gates.
So far, I haven't turned against any IMG. It's rather on the level of rare insults between two sides, not really firing upon each other, like GJ: "You steal His Majesty's ore!" IMG: "We were here first, you fascist frog!" But of course if we have a bigger threat, like Outcasts, I act on my own to provide some indirect help to the IMG, as my character possess some kind of chivarly code.

+2 their whole lore is stupid, to be honest. As someone who had to write countless of rumors for them and read up tons of lore I find it yet still after the retconned bit HORRIBLY lacking, to say the least. It's also illogical beyond the normal illogical point of Disco matters.
Most people play them already as Gallic Privateers, let them just continue as such and retcon whatever silly and nonsensical lore they currently have about them.

+3 I agree. However, I'd keep the rephacks and diplomacy, as IMG is not hostile, unless I start firing at their allies.
Quote:The way I like to see it is that the GJ is fractured internally after Reunion because they lost their contract with the Crown and 99.99% of everywhere else hates them.
That's interesting, because their later description states otherwise - they became Gallic Privateers, as their ID rules even says so.
I'm planning to bring up with someone the GJ subfaction whose goal is to eridicate IMG presence from Taus, as a "promotion of the Gallic mining operations in Taus" issued by GMS. You know, GMS cannot officially issue war over IMG, but they could use GJ to do that.
Oh yeah, totally forgot that part of the ID. But iirc, it was fairly limited in terms of where you could pirate, since the Taus are already liberated and Bretonia is a battle hot spot. There was already a thread on that though so I'll leave it.
And that's a great idea to pirate IMG for GMS, kudos to you! (And good luck of course)
GMS can enter into piracy against IMG (ID allows it), but due to the rather good relations between GMS And IMG (as said by official GRN players), there is possibility for GMS to use GJ against potential rivals in Taus.
And no, I won't be leading a faction. I had it enough, after many failures: half were good, half were bad. I'd be better as a gray player under someone else's command.
Gallic Junkers being privateers for the Gallic Crown was not retconned out.
In fact, it was retconned in for 4.87. Beforehand they were a faction without too much direction.
As for the current relation between them and the Sirian Junkers, I'd say it should be (in rephack terminology) either unfriendly -.3 or no dock -.55.
Their initial lore tie between them and the Sirian Junkers is ... probably inaccurate. And their current situation, nebulous. I think the current stance is that there was some link waaaay back when, but it dissolved shortly after it became a thing and they've disliked each other since.
Whether or not you agree with that, Igiss' original explanation, or believe there must've been no connection whatsoever, having an unfriendly diplomatic stance is still probably the best bet.
The Sirian Junkers have openly opposed the Gallic Crown, whereas the Gallic Junkers work for them like mercenaries. While they share enemies (Hogosha, Unione Corse) and friends (Outcasts), there are many differences in their relations beyond the GRN/GRP. Gallic Junkers aren't (or shouldn't be, if they indeed are) illegal in Kusari, because they work for Gallia. They are also hostile with Liberty, Bretonia, the Colonial Republic, Maquis, and Council. Their namesake counterparts are the opposite on all of those.
I don't know if this helps with your idea, but with luck this clears things up
"You see what your knowledge tells you you're seeing. ... how, what you think the universe is, and how you react to that in everything you do, depends on what you know. And when that knowledge changes, for you, the universe changes. And that is as true for the whole of society as that is for the individual. We all are what we know, today. What we knew yesterday, was different; and so were we."
- James Burke, The Day the Universe Changed (1985)
