I can see your point Tal, but we are speaking about potential base that didn't even last for a day. That's ultimate harassing of the Core One ruleset, because it is not so hard to get some players to besiege Core 1 base.
Also, I must point out the rule does not even make sense, since from roleplay POV I can register base before building. From the POB ruleset, it can be destroyed by any lolwhut, while the other isn't even able to react to it, due to the different timezone. The owner(s) log(s) very next day and... base is gone.
As I said, current Core One ruleset not only can lead but also encourage players into breaking Community Rules 1.2 and 1.6.
Like I said, get friendos, rush shield and abandon Core 1 ASAP for Core 2. Put it in a place where you can easily defend it or where it's under cover from NPC bases and easily accessible by people looking to defend it. If you dump a base in the middle of nowhere, you run the risks and inconveniences of running a base in the middle of nowhere.
no RP construction, no RP destruction. As long as bases can be powergamed like they usually are, I don't think anyone should owe one an advance notice before shooting at it.
Once all bases require roleplay and admin approval before being set up, I'll agree with you, but I think rules regarding that should be much stricter than they currently are.
Then again I also think pobs should be completely removed from the mod.
Quote:My point was rather that destruction of base, if killed by pirates, should follow the same style as actual piracy: fulfill demands or be destroyed - for ALL CORE BASES. It should be within line of the roleplay.
Not comparable. There are often perfectly valid reasons why players just want a base gone. No demands for credits, favors, or dancing around would suffice, just the base removed from whatever gate/hole/station/mining field it's currently blocking. I think you'll agree the demand "blow up your base or we'll do it for you" would be rather pointless. Player ships aren't "in the way", they are sought out and extorted for money.
Well, if you excuse me on here. Who said those need to be pirate vessels? What if some guys just logs lawful characters and pew away the Core 1 base, because they are bored? There were moments like that, as far as I recall.
I just pointed out that Core One rules leave the base open for trolling and harrasing - as violation of the actual rule 1.2. - while it is legit within POB ruleset.
Scenario:
Trollplayers wait for base guys to log out. Then they log onto pirate characters or other characters and remove the base, either covering themselves with Core One ruleset or House Law, in which "every unregistered base is illegal".
If you believe someone is blowing up your bases just to troll and harrass you, report them for 1.2. I'm pretty sure that rule is independent from what other rules allow and forbid.
This actually won´t change much except people will know who blew their bases (and maybe sometimes why).
Things will just turn into scenario "gather at base you want to destroy-wait a minute so someone drop the post to attack announcement thread-start the siege and finish that core 1 base within few minutes (few tens of minutes at max)".

I know, but here we have the way opposite situation, because such players can fill the report for harassing them (while not doing it in fact). Especially, when players destroys the very same (but new) base like 4 times a week.
However, we could resolve the matter with all money stored returned to the account if base is destroyed. I'd be pissed if these 400 millions (earned so hard) on the base just disappeared.

Honestly it´s stupid to put such amount of money on core 1 base in the first place.

It can be gathered through continous buying goods from the base. I was surprised when I realized that Freeport Helium had like 70-80 million creds.
