I am 18 years old, knew Freelancer since when it first came out in 2003, played it back then and I thought I had forgotten it until recently when a friend of mine brought it up.
I played through the campaign again and was awed by how much this game had to offer and how much of the storyline I didn't get back at the time(for those of you who never read Trent's logs, it's worth the read).
I learned of Discovery through ModDB and I figured I'd try it out, had not a single clue how much work was put into this mod and it's community, one thing does scare me though: how much everything has changed since the originial storyline, ships flying with 400 speed?! cloaks?! player bases?! that's all awesome but then again I read somewhere they want to remove the battle razor from some caps? technology nerfs? weapon turrets taking up cargo space?! Zoners enemies with The Order? Two BHG factions? it all seems so complicated, but I heard mostly good reviews about this mod so I will give it a try.
oh boy,its gonna be hard for ye
but basic are:Capitals as big as they are they are not best, yes there are ID nerfs to prevent crazy combinations. There aren't two bhg factions, one is Core and one is bhg from vanilla.Battleship razors are not gonna be taken away i think,at least not now. Also don't forget to read the rules before u are starting to do anything, and always read ID what it allows u and what it doesn't allow u also rp before u engage
Welcome!
There is a lot to learn at the start but its worth the effort in the end.So go read the rules, learn the lore of most of the factions and have fun
Welcome here ^.~ I am sure you will enjoy your stay here with us. You just need to be strong from the start, because not everything nor everyone will agree and so. And yeah read rules, it's better to know them earlier than suffer later ^.~
