could it be possible if when suppliers dock on bases they can see the levels of RA and FOW when pressing f9, or can it be shown on the player base status screen?
Wouldn't it just be as easy to assign a password to said supplier? It'd be a fair amount of work coding that which draws time away from another, more important task. I see where you're going with that but it also leaves a disadvantage to those whom dock. Say if you leave it open to all (Some people like to do this to sell equipment to passers by), and some spiteful nefarious docks on there. OORP this person notes down, say lack of RA or repairs. Logs his battleship and promptly shoots the base, this activates the shield and nobody can dock. I think it'd be more of a dangerous thing to add due to abuse than it would be to aid the suppliers and lets face it, to take off the few seconds of giving someone a password. Which takes literally two seconds to type in, to check the base status, it's not worth it. In reality, you would only have trusted people supply the base, thus they'd be trustworthy enough to have said password. In my opinion, anyway.
ok is there an option for a particular type of password to be given, where no prices or things can be changed but to only check essential supplies as in FOW and RA, that way that password can be given to all that is allowed to dock to check
I agree with Explorer. While it might be less work to have to log in to check RA/FOW levels, the potential abuse of leaving that info out for all to see would be bad.

Honestly, I'd prefer different tiers of base password as a more elegant solution. As Explorer has said, publicly displaying information on supplies will just lead to sieges informed by metagaming.
Supplier - may access the market function to check stock and view buy/sell limits, but cannot alter them.
Supervisor - same as above, but may also begin the construction of factory products - docking bays, cloaks, etc.
Admin - the current level of password, which gives unrestricted access to all aspects of the station.

Yes. A tier system would be the way to go. Just all hinges on whether the Devs have time/want to make time to implement such a thing, but yes. A good idea indeed. But i mean, it's been this way since the POB plugin was added to Discovery and it never really bothered me giving someone a secondary password as long as i trusted them. It hasn't failed me before, but then i guess i'm just careful with such things, POB being a shedload of work and all.

Clearly you've never heard of former Admin Summer McBaseSlayer.
