We have talked with a developer about the model. The idea to seek inspiration from the Bayonet was a good call, but the developers won't accept as LH ship, a VHF version of the Bayonet. So our recommendation is a number of alterations on the draft that you posted.
Curve the axis of the wings of the ship. Example. That would solve the "too flat" problem.
Kudos for that object you put between the engines, if textured correctly it could look like a sophisticated scanning device.
The pseudo-wings which are located right and left of the cockpit to become more sophisticated than a single rectangular extension. Perhaps to make them broader in the rear and as we move forward to turn more sharp? Example (you can play with their length too if you find it appropriate)
The modified model gives us some ideas that it could support exhausts in its profile too. Not as extensive as a Rapier of course, but we think it's something worthy of investigation.
