I have just become the proud owner of a Scylla class destroyer. I'm not too clued up on cap-ships and am after suggestions for a weapons load-out for it. I want to use it as a commerce raider mostly against transports, though my intention is to RP encounters, not destroy. However, I want the vessel to at least appear as if it could do the necessary. I don't intend to fight other cap ships. I'm a pirate, pirates prey on the weak and run from the strong in my opinion. I may have to consider snub/bomber defenses of course, as they are more likely to catch me.
Basically the ship currently has 4 Cerbs and the rest are standard cruiser turrets. It's just that it seems a little bland and lacking any real ummph. I'm curious to hear how others fit theirs or how they would fit if they flew one for the role described.
Err sure others will tell you a lot more detailed anywho... Solaris turrets for snubs never used 'em though always used cerb/rogue/basic turrets (which work great on snubs) but considering the Navy and the first trader to see your ship? Expect to see some laarge Navy ships and Solars won't help ya there. You'll want a Light Mortar regardless of which setup...

If you are good in Turret Steer, use 2x Razor and 2x Cerberus Turret, rest must be secondary turrets. 2x Razor can insta unshielded fighters/bombers. 2x Cerberus for Gunboats/Cruisers/Battleships.
If you are bad in Turret Steer, 3x Cerberus and 1x Light Mortar, also use solaris turrets to defend yourself from Bombers/Fighters.
always use Basic Turrets, Rogue Cruiser Turrets will eat your energy.
there is no 1 fit for everything,4 cerbs works well against other caps to turret steer against,rogue turrets does its job against GB and maybe a snub or two(atleast to scare them if not kill)
^ also it does some nice dps to transport WHILE they are in range(remember..you are slower you will need to do it fast..)
you could mount 2 razors if you are worried about snubs and keep the cerbs for dps(against transports and above)
