As someone stated, it doesn't sounding nice to the ones who joined to fight against the stubborn BAF forces, which do not want to accept the unevitable.
To be honest, I have no other idea for a name.
As for (X), it was to ressemble the front of the traditional UK's safari uniform.

If you're scrabbling around for names, might I suggest looking to (fictional) history? The Bretonian civil war was instigated on Planet Leeds, and resulted in the creation of the Bretonian People's Navy. It'd be rather savvy from a propaganda point of view to resurrect the name for this group.
It'd say to the occupied population, "this is a Bretonian undertaking by Bretonian men and women!" It'd give off the connotations that it's an uprising on Leeds aimed at taking down an oppressive monarchy that's sold them out for generations.
As opposed to what it actually is, that being a coldly manipulative invader using the natives as meat shields so slightly fewer of their own blokes get blown up.
Now that's the background for ultilization and perfect name to pervert the Bretonian minds I've been loking for! Thanks for that, I wasn't aware on that.
I will need a lot of polishing here and there, but the name has been already chosen, all thanks to you, Jammi!
Also, @Black Widow: The Valkyrie Freikorps is based on the real-life Freikorps: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Freikorps - Nationalist militia units working in defense of their homeland, while the Bretonian Free Corps is based on the British Free Corps (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/British_Free_Corps), an axis combat unit formed of British collaborators.
- Introduced the ZOI reflecting philosophy behind the BPN (might be changed).
- Introduced the six-rank system, four of which are technically available to all players (The Overseer is in fact any officer from official GRN faction; Space Lord would be restricted to Lord Wilson or his replacement - I do not intend to have him in game, except for political events).
More Gallic-Bretonian activity, hell yes! This all looks pretty good.
I have to say that including only Gallic Civilian ships is a pretty neat move for thematic reasons, and it will be very nice to actually see some people flying that particular line. Hope you guys do well, maybe team up with the Bohemes on something!

BPN sounds even more confusing and will enhance your point even further about infuriating the Gallic Navy pilots who aren't Bretonian!!
I think the name Turncoats would be more aligned to original plan for the faction name, as it does not have Bretonia in the name but still defines who you are.
Deserters who have switched sides to serve Gallia.
