I think the name Turncoats would be more aligned to original plan for the faction name, as it does not have Bretonia in the name but still defines who you are.
Deserters who have switched sides to serve Gallia.
Something like
Faction Name: Turncoats
Tag: t|X|c-
is much better I think
If people manage to get confused by Gallic ships with Gallic IDs and Gallic IFFs, well... I'd honestly wonder how they manage to function in day to day life. Traffic lights and pedestrian crossings must present a real obstacle, if they're able to misread simple things that badly.
That prefix really does look godawful as well. There's something to be said for the simplicity of a decent abbreviation. Current set-up is much better in my opinion.
At the moment, my main suggestion would be to rewrite the segment on the civil war - currently it's been lifted directly from the Wiki. Consequently, it feels a bit out of place and context. You'll want to integrate it into your description a little better.
You typed the tags wrong in the recruitment thread. At least I think it's wrong. It looks like Bretonian Royal Navy.
By the way, it would be interesting to know who's behind this group. I planned some cooperation with Les Bohemes, if you agree. Gallia desperately needs more popularity and more population.

Better than BPN) a bretonian type tag on Royal Navy ships looks like BRN

BPN)RNS- = BRN
*scratches head*
I don't think letters are nearly that complicated. Unless there's dyslexia involved, but that's a whole other kettle of ballparks. The tag is fine, the X one looks dodgy at best. Not to mention that typing /fi BPN is much faster than typing /fi t|x|c.
It wouldn't make sense for a faction such as this to call themselves turncoats anyway. If you're trying to sell yourself as the only chance for survival against the GRN, as a necessity rather than an option, while gathering popular support, you're not going to name yourself "The Treacherous Bastards".
The tag has been chosen in accordance to the historical reasons and the simplicity. BT or any other tag looks wrong. LNF looks like a Liberty faction, BT looks like a lolwhut faction tag, TC tag looks more like a Corsair tag or something, so choosing better tag was pretty hard. There was idea to use VBN tag, but idea was scrapped due to lore contradictions (not Bretonian vessel have surrendered). BPN) is so far the best tag that can be given and Turncoat) tag is too long for that purpose.
There was also idea about GBF, but it looked wrong as well.
I have chosen BPN, because it would be logical that melancholic history of the nation would be the best to make other citizens more keen to look at your side of the war. All in all, it was officially stated that GRN did way less casualities than KNF during subjucation of Leeds.
